LEC Rosters Locked: All LEC rosters coming into the 2023 season

Off-season is over early for the LEC, with all 10 teams having their rosters set for the upcoming 2023 season. Lots of exciting players have been moves around to teams one may not expect, the 2023 LEC season is sure to be a banger! Investigative eSports journalist LEC Wooloo has filled out a list of all starting rosters for all ten teams coming into the LEC for 2023.

 

BIG MOVES FOR BIG TEAMS

This off-season for the LEC has had some serious roster shuffles, with numerous top-performing LEC players making their debut on organizations like G2 Esports (G2), Fnatic (FNC), and a surprise pick up for newly inducted LEC organization Team Heretics (HRTS).

G2 has made big waves this season, picking up two off-season hot commodities in ADC Steven "Hans sama" Liv and Support Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle Hans sama returns to the LEC, after playing with North America's Team Liquid (TL) for just under one year. Mikyx spent three years of his career with G2 from November 2018 to December 2021. In January 2022, Mikyx would depart from G2 to join Excel (XL), although it seems his time under the United Kingdom organization has come to a close quickly, with word on Mikyx coming back to G2.

Most surprisingly, tenured FNC player Hylissang leaves the organization after sticking with them for four years. Hylissang is set to join MAD Lions (MAD) as their starting support, astoundingly making this his third team in eight years of professional play - Hyli is loyal! It's not all doom and gloom for Fnatic though, Rúben "Rhuckz" Barbosa moves up from Fnatic's Spanish academy sponsored team, Fnatic TQ, to the starting Support for Fnatic.

 

NEW FACES IN THE LEC

Big moves are happening not only for the rosters; new partnerships and slot buyouts bring along two new faces to the LEC. Two Spanish organizations, Team Heretics, and KOI, have worked out agreements to have their brands in the LEC. Team Heretics bought out Misfits Gaming's (MSF) LEC slot for an estimated $34 - 36 million, according to a report from Blix.gg.

To round out their momentous entry into the LEC, Team Heretics picks up arguably the best Western jungler in Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski. Before Jankos' departure from G2, he spent nearly half a decade with the organization, playing a part in bringing home Europe's first Mid Season Invitational (MSI) trophy in 2019.

KOI, an organization started by former LVP caster, and one of the biggest Twitch streamers in the world, Ibai "Ibai" Llanos, enters the LEC through a 60% share in Rogue's LEC slot. Based on a report by ESPORTMANÍACOS' Yuste ‘Yuste’ Armero, KOI paid $20 million for this 60% share, giving KOI the name in the LEC to replace Rogue.

This has been potentially the most altering off-season the LEC has seen thus far, with so many roster moves, and TWO new organizations making their debut. Keep your eyes peeled for these new teams!
