Day Two Match Results

Excel Esports vs SK Gaming [0-1]

A quick finish for SK Gaming in 35.02 minutes despite an early lead from Excel. An attempted Baron sneak in the mid-game from Excel threw away their lead and allowed SK to collapse on the latter. SK ended the game with an 11.8k gold lead. Excel is now mathematically eliminated from Group Stage contention.

Strafe Player of the Series: SK Irrelevant

BDS vs Team Vitality [0-1]

Despite the best efforts of VIT “Bo,” Vitality managed to beat out BDS in 44.33 minutes with a 3.3k gold lead. A rough game for Vitality in the early start as BDS “Sheo” consistently sought out “Bo” with aggressive invades that costed both Vitality’s jungler and mid lane to suffer early deaths. However, by the late game, “Photon” had become strong enough that the team fighting capabilities of Vitality began to shine through.

Team Heretics vs MAD Lions [0-1]

A closely contested game will go the way of MAD Lions in the end in 33.26 minutes. This was off the back of a Pentakill by MAD Nisqy. MAD Lions secured the nexus with a 500 gold lead. The game was largely a back and forth of well-played engages and picks from both sides, with both junglers, “Jankos” and “Elyoya” engaging well for their teams.

Astralis vs Fnatic [1-0]

In a performance equal parts tragedy and comedy, Fnatic sign their own dismissal from playoffs with their horrific performance against Astralis. Fnatic would see their own split demise at 26.57 minutes with an 11.6k gold deficit. The synergy between Mid Lane, Jungle and Top continues to elude Fnatic to their own detriment.

Strafe Player of the Series: AST Finn

G2 Esports vs KOI [1-0]

Clean game for G2 Esports, who took down KOI in 27/14 minutes with 15.1k gold advantage. An early snowball for the G2 botlane thanks to the heroics of “Mikyx” on the Leona, garnering an early kill onto “Comp”. From there, fantastic plays from “Yike” and “Brokenblade” sent KOI packing.
