Blast Spring Showdown 2023 Day 2

EU Showdown:

Game 1: BIG vs Rare Atom

First game of the day saw German Giants BIG take on Rare Atom. Although BIG won the series 2-1, they had quite the rocky start. On their pick of Ancient, Rare Atom completely bullied BIG. They took the win in a dominating 16-7. BIG seemed to have risen from their slump on the second map. Boasting a much better T-side, the German led by Tabsen took the win 16-9. Map 3 took us to Overpass, where BIG showed a sudden change of pace, as they completely swept the floor with Rae Atom at 16-2. However, it was Moseyuh of the Atoms who managed to top the table 57 kills and a 1.39 rating overall.

Game 2: Fnatic vs 9INE

Second game of the day went as well as anyone would expect, as Fnatic bowed out to the Polish Powerhouse 9INE. 9INE took the win in a hard-fought 3 map saga. First map was Vertigo, where 9INE maintained total dominance. They did not allow Fnatic to win any rounds in the second half. And took the map in a commanding 16-6. But Fnatic did not take this sitting down. They tied the series by winning the second map Overpass. However, 9INE did not completely give up the map, as Fnatic won 16-13. Final map Nuke was a CT-sided show from both sides. They both had stellar CT-halfs, and less than average T-rounds. However, mynio did manage to get a nice 4k highlight in between this chaos. 9INE proved to have the better CT-side, taking the win at 16-12. Hades topped the table with 65 kills, and a 1.24 rating.

BIG will face off against 9INE in the Semifinals.

Americas Showdown

Game 1: Team Liquid vs Nouns Esports

The final game of the day saw North American giants Team Liquid face off against Nouns Esports. Some could say it was easy pickings for Liquid, as they breezed through the series 2-0. Mpa 1 was Inferno, where Liquid had a stronghold on the map from both sides. They made easy work of Nouns at 16-6. Nouns tried harder, and got just slightly better results in the second map. Managing 2 rounds more than their previous try, Liquid again took the win with relative ease. They won 16-8. However, cynic managed to take the win for highest kills at 41. But it was EliGE at the top of the table with a whopping 1.53 rating and 40 kills himself.

Team Liquid will take on paiN Gaming in the Semifinals.
