Hilo may look like a card game but it’s way simpler to play than poker and blackjack. Our guide shows you how you can play Hilo and gives you tips about using top promo deals, including the use of our own exclusive promo code here at Strafe: STFSOCIAL. This is going to give you an amazing 5% Rakeback on losses, not bad right? Read on to find out more!
Disclaimer: Stake.us and Stake.com are different products. Stake.com is not available in the US.
We should clarify the fact that Stake.us is a social casino which means that you can’t wager with real money here. Not only does this mean that there aren’t any Stake.us Hilo demo games, but it means that you’ll be wagering with virtual credit called Gold Coins and Stake Cash. All of which means that you can look forward to playing Hilo and not having it cost you a single cent!
It’s remarkably easy to play Hilo. Once you load up the game, you’ll be presented with a random card from a regular deck of cards. All you need to do now is make a prediction of whether the next card dealt will be a higher or lower value than that card.
If your prediction is right, you’ll win your bet along with a multiplier depending on how risky your bet was. Obviously, if you’re wrong, then you lose your bet along with your stake. Just so you know, the King card is ranked as the highest, with the Ace being the lowest.
You can go from signing up to Stake.us to winning your Hilo bets in a matter of minutes. Don’t believe us? Here’s what you need to do:
Register your Stake.us account: Just remember that you need to be at least 21 and playing from anywhere in the US other than New York, Nevada, Idaho or Washington where Stake.us is not available.
Get your Gold Coins: Verifying your account at Stake.us means that you get a gift of Gold Coins to play with.
Select Hilo: You’ll find Hilo in the Stake Originals section in the sidebar.
Choose your bet amount: You can wager from 0.01 upwards and there are easy buttons to halve or double your bets.
Pick or skip card: This is where you effectively set your Hilo odds at Stake because a card like an Ace obviously has different kinds of probability to a Seven.
Click Higher or Same, or Lower or Same and bet: From here you’ll bet whether the next card is higher or lower than the value of the first card. If you’re right, you’ll win your bet!
Calculation | Explanation | Example |
---|---|---|
Starting Point | A random number between 1 and 10,000 is chosen as the starting point | Starting point: 5000 |
Range | The range is calculated based on the starting point | Range: 5,000-10,000 (for high) or 1-4,999 (for low) |
Payout Multiplier | The payout multiplier is calculated based on the range and the player's guess | Payout multiplier: 0.9802 (for high, if the target is 5001) |
Odds | The odds are calculated based on the payout multiplier | Odds: 0.9999 (for high, if the target is 5001) |
Using the example above, if a player bets $10 on high and guesses that the next roll will be higher than 5001, and the roll result is 7000, the player would win the bet. The payout would be:
Payout = Bet Amount x Odds Payout = $10 x 0.9999 Payout = $9.999
So, the player would receive a total of $19.999 (original bet + payout) if they win the bet.
While Hilo is very simple to play, it can also be all too easy to make some newbie mistakes. This is why we’ve got these basic tips to help you out:
The best Hilo strategy at Stake.us is one where you understand the laws of probability which means understanding that the Stake.us Hilo RTP is set against you winning. Obviously, you’ll have a chance of hitting some big multipliers if you do things like predict that a King will be dealt after a Queen, but this is very risky. Far better to settle for more modest wins, rather than just one big one.
Remember that Stake.us will give you virtual credit for doing things like logging into your account each day or just taking part in social media competitions. All of which should give you lots more Gold Coins that you can use on Hilo.
