Stake.us casino Baccarat rules and card values

Stake.us Baccarat is a Stake Originals title but it has the same aim as classic Baccarat — to choose the hand that you believe will have a total closest to nine. It’s possible to back the Banker, the Player or a Tie:

When the game starts, the Player and the Banker will be dealt two cards each. These cards are then added together and the total closest to nine wins. But it’s only the last digit here that’s significant. If the total is greater than nine, the first digit is dropped.

Let’s take a look at an example hand:

• Player - 8 + 5‎ = 13 (8+5 added together equals 13, giving us a final total of 3).
• Banker - 2 + 4 = 6.

In this case, the Banker wins.

Cards between 1-9 are counted as their face value while 10, Jack, Queen and King have a value of 0. Aces have a value of 1.

• Player - A + 4 = 5
• Banker - 10 + 3 = 4

In this case, the Player has the winning hand.

There are three further rules you should be aware of:

• If a Player receives a natural hand of 8 or 9 (for example, 2x4) they automatically win.
• If the Player’s hand totals 5 or under, an additional card will be dealt.
• If the Player stands after the first deal, the Banker will hit on a total of 5 or under.

There are only three possible outcomes from a round of Baccarat: the Banker wins, the Player wins or there’s a tie.
