Player Feedback

My ROLR review evaluates a prediction markets platform where you can trade contracts based on real-world events. Instead of purchasing crypto and stocks, you buy Yes/No contracts that settle depending on whether an event happens.

This guide explains how ROLR works, including its market structure, contract pricing, profit potential, risks, and trading process. I’ll also cover the available event categories, platform features, current promotions, and overall user experience to help you get started with zero hassle.

What is ROLR – Understanding the basics

ROLR is a prediction site where users trade on outcomes of real-world events. Rather than buying or selling your usual stocks or bonds, you purchase contracts that predict what will happen.

How contracts are created

Event contracts at ROLR are based on simple Yes/No outcomes and cover a wide range of topics. For example, you choose the team to win the World Cup between France and Argentina. If you think France will win, buy a Yes contract. If not, buy No. These contracts expire when the event ends, such as at midnight on 20 July for the World Cup. If the contract wins, you get $1. If not, you get nothing.

Pricing and probability

Event contracts are priced between $0.01 and $0.99, and purchase volumes reflect the crowd’s opinion on how the event will likely play out. For example, if a contract has only two traders and one buys 10 Yes contracts and the other buys 2 No contracts, the price would be just over $0.83.

While writing my ROLR review, a Yes Contact was pegged at $0.24. That means fans collectively predict a 24% chance of the event occurring.

Buying and selling before expiry

You can enter and exit positions before the deadline. In fact, doing so allows you to lock in a profit or cut your losses before the event ends. If you exit a position early, you secure whatever profit you make at that time, regardless of the result. Conversely, you can exit early if the original price drops to avoid walking away empty-handed.

What makes ROLR different from trading stocks

ROLR event outcomes are fixed. On the flip side, outcomes for standard investment platforms are infinite as asset prices perpetually rise and fall. Also, ROLR uses tools that measure public perception to analyze probabilities, but traditional investment platforms also use asset evaluation tools.

Does ROLR have a sign-up bonus for new traders?

You won’t be getting a ROLR welcome bonus when you sign up. The site is still in its soft launch phase, so a substantive bonus and ROLR promo code may be available after its official rollout. For now, you have an opportunity to win a share of $25 million in the operator’s Prediction Challenge without spending a dime.

So, how does the challenge work? Well, you make predictions on any of the markets covered by the site using ROLR virtual credits. Each prediction gains points, which you can use to rise on the leaderboard. Along the way, you can pick up prizes like a cool $1,000 if you’re at the top of the table at the end of each week. The amount jumps to $5,000 for monthly champions.

If you reach the finals week, answering 7 questions correctly puts you in the running to win the ultimate $25 million grand prize. You can check out my Interactive Brokers prediction markets review if you want a traditional welcome bonus.

Is ROLR available in the US?

As I mentioned before, ROLR is still in its soft launch phase. Now, it’s operating as a free trading platform, which is available in the US because no real money is changing hands. But even when it fully launches, states like Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming are currently against prediction sites and argue they are unlicensed gambling platforms in disguise. So, you may not find ROLR in all states. You can check out the site’s terms to confirm if it’s available in your parts.

How do payments work on ROLR?

For now, there aren’t any payment methods listed on ROLR. As I mentioned, it’s currently operating as a free trading platform. I will have more information once ROLR is live and will update accordingly. What I can tell you is that ROLR partnered with Crypto.com to offer its services. As such, it’ll likely take a leaf or two out of the leading prediction site’s handbook and offer similar crypto and fiat payment options. If ROLR decides to take the route outlined in my Coinbase review, you’ll likely be charged trading fees and required to observe strict trading limits.

Types of events you can predict on ROLR

I gave you a sports contract example before, but that’s not all ROLR brings to the table. While putting together this ROLR review, I found several markets you can trade, depending on what floats your boat.

🏅 Sports

Over 1,800 sports markets are available on ROLR, including soccer, tennis, and baseball. That’s more than double the sports I found in my Gemini review. If you’re into niche sports, you can check out the likes of darts and chess. There’s a little bit of everything, really. You can predict game winners, go with exact scores or stages of elimination, or choose a host of other options.

💰 Crypto

Crypto-smart traders can predict price shifts in popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP. My ROLR review counted over 3,000 contracts for this section, which is undoubtedly the platform’s biggest niche. It’ll suit traders looking to turn a massive profit on short-term crypto price movements, without necessarily owning the digital asset. Besides guessing price direction, you can predict aspects like Ethereum’s Implied Volatility Index by a specific date.

🗳️ Politics

ROLR has political markets for users interested in legislation, policy shifts, and election results. You’ll need to be a news junkie who stays on top of political media around the clock to nail this market. I counted around 180 ROLR markets for this niche. You can buy Yes or No contracts on questions like “Who will enter Iran by June 30?” This market isn’t always about guessing policy decisions or approval ratings. You can trade on abstract issues like Bill Clinton's divorce by 30 June.

🎭 Culture

ROLR includes a culture section where you can predict trends or internet drama. For example, you can predict the “Next James Bond actor?” or “Will Kanye West visit Israel by 30 June?” People who love bragging rights that come with knowing something others don’t will definitely like this market.

📈 Economics

Economics predictions let you trade on where you think the economy is heading. That includes inflation reports, interest rate decisions, unemployment figures, and more. You can predict the Fed's decisions, June inflation, or the Bank of Korea's decision in July. Traders who spend hours reading minutes of the Federal Reserve meeting or keeping track of GDP data releases will definitely have an edge in these markets.

Event categoryWhat users can predictExample contract outcome

Trading on ROLR step by step

Getting started on ROLR is easy and doable in under a minute. Here’s how:

Account setup and funding

  1. Click the banners on this page to visit the ROLR website via desktop or mobile.

  2. Click the blue Sign Up button in the upper right-hand corner.

  3. You can register with Google or via email. I went with the latter, so I submitted my email address.

  4. Click the small box to confirm you’re at least 18 years old and hit Continue.

  5. Submit a strong password, a catchy username, and a phone number on the next slide.

  6. Click Send code, and ROLR forwards a verification code via SMS. Enter it on the screen provided to verify your phone and activate your account.

Finding a market

I’m happy to say the ROLR site is built for fast browsing, so you won’t struggle to identify markets. The moment you log in, you’re greeted with the trending events for all popular markets, and you can take your cue from there. Alternatively, click the top menu tabs to browse the categories I highlighted earlier.

If you already know what you want to trade, use the Search bar to locate the market. You may want to use event details, such as the price and expiration time, to filter contracts. For instance, choosing a contract expiring in 6 months means your funds will be locked up for that long.

Placing a trade

Choose Yes if you think the event will happen, or No if you think the event will fail. Remember, prices range from $0.01 to $0.99. You can buy 1 position or up to 100 for a single trade. Review the order and check how much you’ll win if your prediction is correct. Submit your trade and lock it in if you like what you see. You can wait for the event to end or exit early.

Should you download the ROLR app?

Currently, there isn’t a dedicated app available on the Google Play Store or the App Store. This shouldn’t necessarily be a deal-breaker, though, because the website is built for mobile. It can load on Android and iOS devices, adapting seamlessly to fit the smaller screen sizes.

The buttons are thumb-friendly, and the links are responsive, and you can perform any function via the mobile site. That includes everything from signing up, trading, or participating in the prediction trade challenge. Loading speeds are quick during crucial trading moments.

How profit, loss, and settlement work

Whether you make a profit or a loss depends on the gap between the entry price and the final contract price at settlement.

How returns are calculated

I mentioned that all winning contracts are settled at $1, and losing contracts settle at $0. If you buy a Yes contract at $0.20 and your prediction is correct, it settles at $1, and your profit is $0.80. If your prediction is wrong, you get nothing. The most you can win is $1 on a single contract, and the maximum you can lose is your investment.

Closing early versus holding

You can hold onto your position until settlement or close your position early. For instance. if you purchase a $0.40 contract and it increases to $0.60, you can choose to exit the position at that price. This secures a $0.20 profit regardless of the final result. High-volatility markets work best with this strategy. You exit the minute the price spikes to secure gains before it potentially drops.

How ROLR fees work

For now, my ROLR review found zero trading fees. Remember, the site currently only allows free trading using virtual credits. So, whether you buy or sell contracts, no fees are deducted. Once users start trading with real money, the site will likely include a spread of between 0.5% and 2% per trade. This is what its partner, Crypto.com, does. The price you’re quoted when you buy or sell a position will be higher or lower than the live price. Traders may incur other transaction costs, such as when they purchase crypto using debit or credit cards. Again, this is mere speculation based on its partnership with Crypto.com. You can keep up with my reviews to know more once ROLR fully launches.

Support options at ROLR

I can’t say I found customer support as helpful as I’d like. That’s because I couldn’t reach the support team via live chat and get instant feedback. Hopefully, this will change soon enough. In the meantime, you can email the team and expect a response within 24 hours. You can also go through the comprehensive FAQ section, which answers most of your questions in one place. The section addresses issues such as creating an account, claiming prizes, or canceling a prediction without waiting for a support ticket.

Predict future events at ROLR

ROLR is a great site for low-pressure, high-fun event predictions. I appreciate the simple onboarding process that won’t frustrate newcomers. The clutter-free setup allows you to trade your views with ease, whether on desktop or mobile.

My ROLR review confirms you have plenty of markets to trade on, although the bulk are crypto-focused. Just ensure you have a strategy in place and bankroll discipline to handle volatile markets once it fully launches. Click the banners on this page to get started on the site and predict the outcome of future events.
