When I create these reviews, I look for a hook, and with Pickem Ripping Packs, it’s definitely the mobile app. From the moment I started gathering my Pickem Ripping Packs ratings, it was clear that this was one of the top mobile pack ripping operators. The only minor critique I have is that they don’t have any other TCG series yet like One Piece, Riftbound, or Magic - but I guess these could come in the future.

I got some decent pulls from the sports packs

First up, sports fans will love the dedicated sports packs Pickem Ripping Packs offers which include:

• MLB.
• Multisport.

I personally didn’t like the multisport packs, but that’s because I’m an NBA fan and I’m not bothered about collecting baseball, football, or other sports cards. Still, if you are just a general sports collector and looking for cool cards and grails, these packs can be worth it. You basically get a mix of all the sports, plus some other categories like UFC and Soccer - I did see a few Messi and Ronaldo cards in there which many collectors would love.

There’s multiple tiers of packs and I treated myself to a fair few basketball packs. For each pack, you get full transparency and I never felt like I was in the dark about my odds or what I could pull. In terms of percentages and values, it’s on par with the findings from my Slabz review - grail cards are of course rarer, and you get a mix of cards above and below the pack value.

For my NBA pack rips, there was some guff that I didn’t care about, like some standard base Panini and Topps cards from NBA players who I have no attachment to. But, I did pull a few Lakers cards and decided to keep these - I’m a Lakers fan so I wanted to add them to my collection.

Pickem Ripping Packs has plenty of Pokémon packs

Oh my, the Pokémon cards - my weak spot! I knew going into this Pickem Ripping Packs review that I would probably spend a pretty penny on the packs and I was right. There’s Pokémon packs running from $25 upwards and I went for something a little more expensive with the $100 Pokémon Pro Packs.

A few things to note about these packs:

• All the cards are graded.
• There’s both Japanese and English Pokémon cards.
• There’s a mix of retro and modern card sets.

I collect retro cards from old series like the 1999 First Edition Base Set, and I did see plenty of these, but there’s also loads of cards from more modern sets. With my packs, I managed to get a decent Charizard EX, plus a pretty cool Eevee card. I did also get some Japanese cards too which I’m not bothered about - they look awesome, but I like to be able to read the moves and card info.

I was impressed with the shipping & buyback features

With any card you pull at Pickem Ripping Packs, you’ve got three options:

For instance, during my Openthatpack review I got over 24 hours to decide and most card rip sites I’ve used give you anywhere from 24 hours to a week to make a decision. Pickem Ripping Packs needs to improve this - I don’t want to be forced to make a decision in such a short timeframe.
