OwnersBox has decided to engage with fantasy sports in a rather different way to most of its competitors. Our OwnersBox review explores how this engaging brand has bucked the trend by offering weekly fantasy sports as a great alternative.
We’ve also discovered some completely unique OwnersBox features that you can use to select your ultimate fantasy sports team, as well as enjoying a comprehensive selection of contests and being rewarded every time you play. We’re sure you’ll agree that OwnersBox has plenty of appeal for everyone, including a generous $500 deposit bonus when you create your account.

We can’t fault OwnersBox when it comes to the generosity of its welcome offer. New sign ups on the site can enjoy a matched deposit bonus of up to $500, which is currently the best fantasy sports welcome deal available right now.
As far as wagering requirements go, this offer is super simple - you just need to deposit at least $10 to qualify.
On top of the deposit bonus, new players will also receive a $10 Lightning Lineups entry - as well as a $10 SuperFlex DFS entry - completely on the house. This offer is subject to 3X wagering requirements, which isn’t much at all.
OwnersBox has taken a minimalist approach for the design of its website and app, which makes it easy to define the content that you want to see without any annoying screen clutter. Navigation is seamless between pages, but new players might find that they have to search around to find exactly what they want to begin with.
On the homepage you can view all of the pool contests available, including those you are engaged with. The home page menu is then organized into several sections which include your player news feed, your group contests, the games lobby, promotions and the OwnersBox blog.
When you are signed in, you’ll also see a menu option to access your account details. The player dashboard is great and you’ll have no trouble finding any information relating to your account profile, verification status, reward level and OwnersBucks balance.
The OwnersBox app is available for users of most iOS or Android devices and has a number of similarities to the app featured in our FanDuel review. You can download it directly from the OwnersBox website or by visiting the Apple Store or Google Play Store from your mobile device.
When you open the app, the first thing you’ll see is any contests you are already entered for. To navigate elsewhere, simply tap the ‘O’ icon which opens up all other menu options, including access to your OwnersBox dashboard.
Although the app is quite different in appearance to the main OwnersBox website, you can rest assured that it is very easy to use and that you can access all of the same great features when it comes to selecting a contest or choosing your fantasy sports team.
In keeping with its minimalist approach, OwnersBox gives you just two payment alternatives for making instant deposits to your account: bank transfer or credit/debit card. The minimum deposit permitted is just $10, which makes the site very accessible for new or casual players and the maximum is $1000 if you want to play for higher stakes.
Depositing is an easy process, which you complete from your OwnersBox Dashboard. Your first option is online banking, which is supported by more than 1000 US banks. Alternatively, you can opt to use any of these credit or debit cards:
When it’s time to withdraw your winnings then you can select either online banking or check. The amount you request must be at least $10. Using online banking is the preferred method as your payment will be processed within five working days.
Opting for a check sent in the mail will inevitably slow down the processing time. You will need to provide additional personal information and must expect to wait up to 10 working days before you receive your check.
Customer support begins at the moment you first sign up with OwnersBox. As soon as you have provided some basic information, you will enter a unique ‘onboarding’ process that will take you through every aspect of the site from verification to playing in real money contests.
Ongoing support is provided through a set of helpful FAQs, video tutorials and useful blog articles. The OwnersBox live chat option is available from 11.00 to 19.00 EST, but don’t worry, if you encounter a problem outside of those times, then the support team is still on hand 24/7. You can get in touch by filling out an on-site webform, sending an email or via Facebook and Twitter.
We’ve started here by asking the question ‘Is OwnersBox legit?’ But don’t be alarmed by that, we’ve asked the same question in our ParlayPlay reviews too. Anyway, we’re pleased to say that OwnersBox is licensed to operate in 36 US states, so we can certainly confirm that it is a highly regarded and safe brand.
Below are the US states where OwnersBox is currently unable to offer its services:
In any state that is NOT on the list above, players must be at least 18 years old, except for Alabama and Nebraska where the minimum age is 19 years and Massachusetts where you must be at least 21 years of age to join in the fun.
OwnersBox has an entertaining rewards program known as OwnersBucks. Whenever you enter paid contests or tournaments, a percentage of the entry fees will be credited to your account as OwnersBucks.
In addition, every player holds a rank at OwnersBox, which are defined by the total number of paid contests you have entered. As a first-level ‘Rookie’ who has played in nine or less contests, you’ll be credited 1% of your entry fees, so one OwnersBuck for every $10.
There are eight levels to work your way up through and if you succeed in playing 1000 contests, then you’ll hit the heights and achieve the ‘GOAT’ ranking. At GOAT level your reward percentage is 4.5% for every $10 in entry fees.
OwnersBucks can be used to enter cash contests and tournaments, or they can be converted to cash and withdrawn if you prefer, subject to the usual $10 minimum.
There are currently four major league sports available, each with a number of options for building your own fantasy squad:
OwnersBox plans to add more sports to its roster in the future, but unfortunately has no imminent plans to add OwnersBox esports contests. However, at some competitor sites like top operator DraftKings esports, fantasy esports leagues are already available. This is a development we hope OwnersBox will consider in the future.
You can play in prize pool tournaments with a variety of field sizes, or you can opt to go head-to-head with just one other contestant. In all types of contests, there are rules in place to keep things to a sensible limit.
In tournaments, there is a maximum player salary cap in place, which maxes out at $200,000 even in the biggest of the NFL pools. In smaller contests, the maximum is often around $50,000. Other contests use the snake draft rather than financial constraints. For these contests, your team is put together using the players you draw, rather than selecting them yourself.
You can also set up private contests with your friends, which can either be free or have a paid entry. Irrespective of the type of contest you decide to engage with, you still get to enjoy all of the top OwnersBox features such as Lightning Lineups, Flex and SuperFlex to help you build your fantasy team.
Although OwnersBox does not have a forum in the traditional sense, it has a number of different social media community options where you can have fun with your friends or meet new ones. Our OwnersBox reviews found all of these channels were lively and well-populated throughout the day:
We are impressed by some of the innovative features that make OwnersBox stand out from the crowd and we hope that additional sports and esports betting offers will be added soon. Offering weekly contests will have plenty of appeal to those of you who don’t have the time for daily participation, but are looking for something quicker than a season-long commitment.
