Moomoo Review: Is It the Best Prediction Market Platform in 2026?

Details
Player Feedback

I've followed updates from Moomoo since it announced its prediction markets, up until the June launch. The latest update was a post about its 100 million contracts-traded milestone, and I feel now is the best time for a Moomoo review.

This review takes a closer look at the Moomoo prediction app and everything it offers. I take some time to explain how it works, the site's bonuses, and the markets you can trade. You'll also get a quick overview of the Moomoo mobile app and how to make payments on the site, in case you decide to try it out.

How does the Moomoo prediction market work?

Prediction markets are one of the simplest trading options you can find right now. The function on a basic binary process, where the outcomes can be Yes or No, and nothing else.

A prediction market like Moomoo functions as an exchange. The goal of this exchange is to connect various traders. The trades that occur on a prediction market concern the outcomes of events that will happen at a future date.

The outcome of the event is usually specific and verifiable, which is why the Yes or No outcome works. Once an event is in focus on a prediction market, you can purchase the Yes contract if you expect it to happen. However, if the chances of the event occurring are very low, you purchase the No contract.

The prices of event contracts on the Moomoo markets range from $0.01 to $0.99. When you purchase a Yes or No contract, the contract price can rise or fall based on new reports that affect the event. However, Moomoo lets you sell your contracts before they settle if you want.

So, what does it mean for an event to settle? An event settles when the outcome has been determined. This happens if the event occurs, or if it doesn't by the event's closing date. The price of a Yes or No contract will settle at $1 if the prediction is correct, or at $0 if it is incorrect.

Bonus offers at Moomoo predictions

The bonuses at Moomoo aren't exclusive to its prediction markets, as it also offers stock and derivatives services. You only need one account to access all its services, so individuals who have already opened a stock account won't be eligible for certain bonuses, even if they visit the Moomoo markets for the first time.

When I opened an account for my Moomoo review, I found some bonuses on the site, such as:

🎉 Welcome Bonus

The Moomoo welcome bonus is an 8.1% Annual Percentage Yield (APY) on any idle cash in your account. I also had the option to receive up to $1,000 in NVIDIA stock when I made a qualifying deposit.

🤝 Referral Bonus

This is a reward for inviting your friend to sign up on Moomoo. You need to share your referral link, and any friend who signs up through it gets a $25 cash reward they must claim before making a deposit. You also get a reward of up to $500, but you must invite four friends to get the full amount.

📈 Transfer Bonus

To claim this bonus, you need to transfer your stocks or assets from an external broker to Moomoo. You need to transfer at least $50,000 to get 2 Mets Suite tickets and a $600 cash coupon.

You don't need to use a Moomoo promo code for any of these bonuses, so you can claim them once you set up your account. The list of bonuses is looking pretty slim right now, but during my Moomoo review, I found some expired bonuses on the site. From what I can tell, the operator regularly updates its promotions, so you can expect a new offer later.

The different markets on Moomoo predictions

Prediction market sites usually provide access to several independent markets, and I found a decent number during my Moomoo review. I found 12 different markets, which is more than what many other operators offer. However, many traders focus on specific options, such as:

  • Sports: These are usually the most popular markets on prediction sites. You'll have the option to trade on basketball, football, hockey, and baseball events in most US states, which is great news.
  • Elections: Looking to put your knowledge of politics to use, then why not try trading on upcoming elections? You can trade on domestic or international elections, but be sure to confirm market liquidity.
  • Science & technology: Many traders love the Science & technology markets because they offer a chance to go wild. You'll find events relating to aliens, which always get a lot of attention.
  • Entertainment: The Grammys, the Game Awards, music, and movies are just a few of the many exciting markets you can trade here. Everyone loves entertainment-related events, but they can be difficult to predict correctly. :
Prediction marketSub marketsHighest trade volume I found at Moomoo
SportsBaseball, Basketball, Football, Soccer, Cricket, Esports, and moreOver 850 million on the 2026 World Cup winner
ElectionsInternational elections, US elections, Primaries, Governor, Senate, House, and moreOver 140 million on the 2028 Democratic presidential nominee

Science & TechnologyAI, Energy, Space, Compute, Public Health, Tech, and moreOver 30 million on whether the U.S. will confirm that aliens exist

Many of the markets I found on Moomoo also appeared in my Interactive Brokers prediction markets review. So, if you need to shop around for better prices on any event, you already have an alternative in mind to check.

The Moomoo mobile app

Moomoo prioritizes the comfort of all its members, which is why it offers downloadable mobile apps for those who prefer this option. You can get the app from the App Store if you use an iPhone, or visit the Google Play Store with an Android device. However, unlike the standalone mobile app I found during my DraftKings Predict review, Moomoo uses the same app for trading stocks, options, and prediction markets. While some traders may prefer this design, others may want things separate to avoid being overwhelmed.

The app download takes only a few minutes, after which you can launch it. If you already have an account, you can sign in. However, you can also set up an account if this is necessary.

If you already have an account and haven't requested permissions to trade prediction markets, they will not be visible on the mobile app. To get permissions, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Accounts tab and go to the All section.

  2. Tap the account option and select Trading Permissions.

  3. Select the Prediction Markets option and wait for approval.

Once you receive approval, you'll be able to check out the various prediction markets at Moomoo directly on your mobile device. The payment options, live chat, and other features on the desktop website also appear in the mobile app.

The mobile app's user interface is simple and easy to understand, which is ideal for a prediction market app. You'll find links to the Watchlist, Markets, Accounts, Discover, and Me tabs at the bottom of the screen, and they're easy to access even when navigating using one hand.

Making payments at Moomoo

To start trading event contracts on the Moomoo markets, you need to fund your account. At Moomoo, you can make a deposit using ACH or bank wire transfer, and each option has its benefits and drawbacks. If you want to fund your account as I did during my Moomoo review, here is a quick step-by-step guide you can follow:

  1. Log in to your Moomoo account.

  2. Go to the accounts section.

  3. Select the deposit option.

  4. Choose a deposit method.

  5. Follow the prompts to complete the transaction.

Deposits can take up to five business days to reflect in your account, so it's always a good idea to plan ahead. You should try to fund your account if you need to trade instantly. Bank wire transfers are usually faster, but you will incur transaction fees.

Withdrawals at Moomoo

As with deposits, Moomoo supports withdrawals only via bank wire transfers and ACH. To process a withdrawal, you'll need to visit the accounts section and select the Withdraw option. You can then follow the prompts to complete the process.

ACH withdrawals are free, but the funds must have been in your Moomoo account for at least 4 business days. Bank wire transfers also require that funds have been in your account for 4 business days, and there is a $20 fee for a wire transfer to a US bank account.

Customer service at Moomoo

Although many individuals are already familiar with how prediction markets work, not everyone will be an expert on the Moomoo platform. If you need help on Moomoo, there are several options available.

One option is to visit the Help Center, which provides access to the site's FAQ section. Here, you'll find answers to various questions, such as how to set up and fund a Moomoo account. You can also learn about other topics, which makes the Help Center a very useful part of Moomoo Markets.

The next customer support option is through a phone line that you can call. This line is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. ET, so you need to place your call early if you have an issue.

The best customer support option at Moomoo is the live chat feature, which is available 24/7. You can open this feature by clicking on the online inquiry button on the screen, which triggers a pop-up. You'll first have to speak with a chatbot, but you can request a transfer to a live agent whenever you want.

Is Moomoo regulated and safe?

Your safety at any prediction site is a priority, which is why you must confirm that an operator is properly licensed before setting up an account or making a deposit. Moomoo is one of the few prediction markets licensed to operate in the US, and it operates based on guidelines set by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The company running the prediction market, Moomoo Financial Inc., operates as a registered operator with the National Futures Association (NFA), so it's safe.

Every trader is always trying to stay safe in prediction markets, which is why you'll often see questions like "Is Kalshi legal in New York?" It's important to reiterate that prediction market sites are generally accessible across the US, but individual availability can vary from one state to another. I suggest you confirm your eligibility through the brand’s T&Cs before you decide to sign up.

Conclusion: A new prediction market with features that make it a solid pick

Moomoo isn't the first prediction market platform to appear in the US, but it's one of the best available. The platform has many features that set it apart from others, including its promotions. You get a welcome bonus, referral bonus, and transfer bonus, which is much more than what is available on many other sites. Moomoo also has excellent mobile apps that are easy to use, with a clean UI and fast load times, ensuring you're not lagging behind on trade prices.

The welcome bonus at Moomoo Markets is quite unique, considering it doesn't apply to the prediction markets. However, this doesn't mean you shouldn't claim the offer, since you can get up to $1,000 in stocks. You can register on the site using the link I provide, and then follow the prompts to set up your account.
