What’s up with this brand? I wondered the same thing, which is why I set out to create this Lucky Buddha review. Overall, I enjoyed my gaming experience, but there were a couple issues that took me by surprise.
On the plus side, this brand offers a welcome and daily login bonus so you can easily explore the site’s 1,500+ games. One good surprise is that the gaming lobby includes a live casino with a small collection of table games. Get to know its redemption fee as well. Read on for all the details…

This is a sweepstakes casino, which means there is no real-money gaming involved. Instead, you use two types of virtual currency to play the casino-style games: Gold Coins (GC) and Sweeps Coins (SC). The Gold Coins are the “for fun” virtual currency that you can use to play all the games on the site for your amusement. When you want to switch to what the brand calls “prize mode,” you can use your Sweeps Coins to play the games.. If you meet the playthrough requirement of 1x, then your Sweeps Coins become redeemable SC. Any eligible Sweeps Coins can then be redeemed for real prizes (e.g., cash).
How do you get this virtual currency? What kinds of games can you play? What is the redemption process like? I’ll answer all of these questions and more inside my review. Let’s jump in…
Just as mentioned in Amazon Jackpots review where there is a welcome bonus offer upon sign up, Lucky Buddha also rewards new players with 100,000 GC and 2 SC, which is a good bonus, and right on par with what many other brands offer.
As is the case with most sweepstakes casinos, new players aren’t the only ones who are eligible to collect virtual currencies. Which brings us to this next point…
Yes, absolutely. You can collect more virtual currencies in the following ways:
You may also collect virtual currency from time to time through seasonal promos and other offers, leaderboard/tournament events, and similar. You can read more about this brand’s bonuses inside my full bonus review.
Now on a related note….
Yes, this site offers a 10-tier VIP program, which you progress through by collecting XP. As you climb through the tiers, your rewards get bigger and better, including:
The rewards look good, and I’m excited to unlock them as I climb through the 40 levels and 10 tiers. The site tells you exactly how many experience points (XP) you need to collect in order to move to each tier. For example, Tier 1 to Tier 2 requires 100 XP, Tier 2 to Tier 3 250 XP, and so on.
The downside here is that the site doesn’t tell you exactly how to collect XP. It says you’ll collect these points through gameplay, but there are no specifics about how much gaming or what type you need to do to collect one point. So, at this time I can’t tell you whether it’s worth pursuing the various levels of the program as I don’t know how much time and effort it requires. I’ll update you here when I learn more. Meanwhile, let’s take a look at what the gameplay is like on the site…
This site features a dark background with orange accents, and a “Lucky Buddha” theme that runs throughout the site, from the design to the names of the promotions. I found the navigation user-friendly, and very similar to other sweepstakes casinos, such as the one you can read about in my KingPrize review.
This site has a relatively large gaming catalog, with over 1500 games coming from a mix of lesser-known providers alongside top providers (BGaming, BetSoft, Kalamba, 3Oaks). The site mainly features a variety of slots, including hold and win, bonus buys, and cascading reels. There’s a nice selection of RNG table games such as poker, roulette, blackjack, baccarat and more. To my surprise, there was also a small live-dealer section with over a dozen games. So yes, there is plenty of entertainment available on the site, and I’m sure you’ll find something you enjoy.
Now on a related point…
No, there is no app available. However, this brand has publicly stated that they prioritize a mobile-friendly experience, and I could certainly see that with my own gameplay. I had zero issues navigating the site, loading games, playing games or making payments on my Android phone. Everything loaded fast, and there were no gametime lags.
Now if you’re like me, you’re going to play these games quite a bit, and you might even run out of virtual currency, and/or you’ll want to request a redemption of your redeemable SC. Let’s take a look at these options next…
This site offers minimal payment options for those who choose to make an optional purchase of Gold Coins, as you can only use credit cards (such as Visa and Mastercard). I expect most players tend to have credit cards they can use, but I’d still like to see additional options, such as a couple e-wallets like many other similar brands provide.
The good news is that there are quite a few additional options for redemptions, but the bad news is that you’ll usually incur fees using these options. That’s highly disappointing, as most sweepstakes casinos don’t have any fee for redemptions. You’ll need to meet the playthrough requirement of 1x and collect 100 redeemable SC before you can initiate a redemption, and then you’ll have these options for cash redemptions:
| Redemption method | Fee |
| Next-day bank deposit | 1.65% |
| Instant Pay (Visa) | 4.3% |
| RTP (Real Time Payments) | 4.3% |
| PayPal | 4.3% |
| Same-Day Bank Deposit | 2.75% |
| Venmo | 4.3% |
Note that the brand aims to approve redemptions in 24-48 hours. As you can see some options are available instantly, the same day, or the next day. All other options will take around one to three business days.
If you have any troubles with payments or redemptions, you can contact customer service, which brings us to the next part of my review…
This brand has a nice collection of FAQs if you need answers to basic questions, such as how to make a payment or how long a redemption takes. If you need human help, or information not provided in the FAQs, then you can reach out to support using their email address or their contact form. When I did this, I received a reply back in about five hours.
That response time is acceptable for email support, but I am a little disappointed that live support isn’t available so that players can get an answer in minutes. If you’ve read some of my other reviews, such as the Wisespin review, then you know that other sites often provide live chat support. The Lucky Buddha site does say that if you climb into the upper levels of the VIP program that you’ll receive priority support, which is a good deal, but I do wish all customers had a chat option.
Now let’s turn our attention to a very important part of my Lucky Buddha review….
I don’t like to sign up for a new site unless I trust them, and that means doing my due diligence to be sure the brand is legit. In this case, I can say with confidence that this brand is indeed safe and secure.
The company that operates this brand is called Windstorm Tech, LLC, which operates out of Alabama. I did a little research and found that the company is transparent, and I didn’t uncover anything suspicious or concerning about the company. On the contrary, the site appears to be in compliance with the law, which you can see in their detailed terms and conditions, as well as their policies. This includes their identity verification policy, which is an anti-money laundering initiative that all reputable casinos follow, which you may have read about in some of my other sweepstakes casino reviews.
The second big issue I researched is player safety, and here too this brand checks all the right boxes. Their site is secure, with a valid security certificate and advanced encryption technology. Their providers, such as gaming providers and payment providers, are all reputable companies that take security seriously. And finally, this brand provides responsible social gaming tools and resources to protect its players. All in all, I felt comfortable joining the site, and I think you will too.
Now a few final thoughts about this brand…
As you just discovered, there is a lot to love about this brand, including the generous welcome bonus, the daily bonus. the nice collection of games that even includes a small live-casino section, and the player-friendly 1x playthrough requirements for Sweeps Coins. There are some areas where I’d like to see some improvement, including no-fee redemptions, a smaller minimum amount of SC required to initiate the redemptions, and live chat support for all players. All in all though, this brand brought me a lot of entertainment, and I think you’ll enjoy it, too.
To get started, all you have to do is tap the Lucky Buddha banner on this page, and your welcome bonus will be applied to your account automatically after you complete the registration process. Enjoy!
No. Most slot games count 100%, certain table games contribute 10%, and there is also an exclusion list in the sweepstakes rules that list the games that contribute 0%.
No, I didn’t find a referral program at the time when I created this Lucky Buddha review, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they introduce one in the future.
The bonuses I mentioned in my review don’t require bonus codes. However, if a code does become available, you’ll find it on the banners on this page.
