GoldSlips recently came out of testing mode and started accepting new players, so we signed up, of course; unfortunately we didn't have a good experience. Just then, we concluded it might not be a site we would want to see you playing at.
Some of the reasons were the lack of games which is a very important aspect any sweepstakes casino. Apart from a simplistic website with some glaring UI issues, it doesn't have a VIP program. But to top it all off, we didn't receive the welcome bonus! You can read all about it in our main GoldSlips review.
Because of all this, we recommend you look elsewhere for a new sweeps casino to play at, but we will outline GoldSlips' supposed bonuses in this article.
Just like the Carnival Citi no deposit bonus, the supposed welcome offer at GoldSlips features two currencies, but the names of the coins here may confuse you at first. Here is a quick breakdown of how GoldSlips' two virtual currencies work:
Type of coin | Notes |
---|---|
Fun Coins (GC equivalent) | As the name suggests, these are just here for fun. You’ll be able to use them to play all of the casino-style games on the platform, and that’s about it. There are no exchanges or redemptions, but you can buy more Fun Coins in bundles if your balance runs low. |
Gold Slips (SC equivalent) | Rebranded to suit the brand name, Gold Slips are the equivalent of Sweepstakes Coins. They must be obtained for free through bonuses or promotions, such as the welcome offer, or won by playing. You should be able to redeem your Gold Slips winnings for real world prizes once you build up enough (at least 50). |
Now that we've cleared that up, we can relay this from GoldSlips' help articles:
In the GoldSlips' help center, it states "Just for signing up to GoldSlips you will receive 10,000 Fun Coins and 10 Gold Slips."
which is a shame as the 10 Gold Slips would have been very nice. GoldSlips' help page does recommend you contact them if this bonus is not applied so they can sort it, but it was a far from ideal start to my time on the platform.
However, when we did sign up, we received nothing as a signup bonus, which was unfortunate and very disappointing as the 10 Gold Slips that was advertised would have been very good to start with. The help article goes on to say:
"Your sign up bonus should be applied to your account automatically after you have completed email verification, but if you didn’t receive this please reach out and let us know."
So it's almost like GoldSlips know you may not receive it, which isn't a good look, especially for a new sweepstakes casino, in our opinion.
We thought of reaching out to them through email but changed our minds when we released that they do have a daily login bonus which you can claim on your first day on the site, so this is a sure-fire way to receive some Fun Coins and Gold Slips, thank goodness they didn't disappoint in that aspect as well! It's done in the form of a wheel that you can spin, and whatever prize you land on, you receive. However, Fun Coins are usually more than the Gold Slips because as the name implies, it's only used to play for fun and cannot be used to redeem real prizes, but at least it is better than not having any at all.
So now that you have at least something to get playing with, and though it may not be as much as the signup bonus, it's enough to get started with.
You'll need a GoldSlips no deposit bonus code, but the only time you'll need the promo code is if you want to take advantage of GoldSlips' first purchase offer. By using their code HELLO when you go to buy your first coin bundle, you can double whatever you're getting (as long as you go for the $9.99 or $19.99 coin bundle).
Here are some more detailed T&Cs:
Just like the Crown Coins no deposit bonus, you can claim the GoldSlips welcome bonus just by registering at the site, supposedly, which according to the help center, is meant to be 10,000 Fun Coins and 10 Gold Slips for signing up. This didn't work for us, but maybe it will work for you -- and if it doesn't, once registered you can always contact their support just as they advised, or you could just decide to go on and spin the daily wheel instead, to receive some Fun Coins and Gold Slips.
To use the HELLO code to double your coin bundle, just apply the code when purchasing the bundle at checkout.
As a sweepstakes casino, GoldSlips will be available in more states than regular casinos, but local legislation means it isn't available everywhere, and, to be honest, the list of states where GoldSlips isn't offered is relatively long.
To be specific, players in the below states won't be able to signup at GoldSlips:
It's hard to say, but with GoldSlips being a new venture, it's likely they're working on their offering. The best way to keep up with any news is to subscribe to their social media account so that you can be one of the first persons to get any information to that effect, or you could just move on to another site who are readily available to give enough no deposit offers -- there are plenty of others we recommend over GoldSlips!
GoldSlips is far from our first choice when it comes to sweeps casinos. Although, we kind of understand because it's a relatively new venture, it's written all over the site experience. However, we're very hopeful that they're working on improving, and we hope to see them offer more options, especially games, and improve also in their support and UI options.
With a welcome bonus that doesn't always work, a very limited selection of 16 games and a UI that needs some improvements, we wouldn't want you to head here and not enjoy your time.
We recommend you take a look at some of our other reviews to find those casinos that we would be happy to see you play at.
There is only one we know of currently, and that's HELLO, which can be used to take advantage of the first purchase bonus at checkout -- this code will double the coins you get as long as you go for the $9.99 or $19.99 bundles.
GoldSlips is a sweepstakes casino, so there is no ‘real money’ played. Games are played using Fun Coins or Gold Slips, and the latter can eventually be redeemed for cash once you collect enough.
It is a decent sum that's and would have been perfect for a new player to start playing with, but we never received it when we signed up.
