With so many mystery box sites online, it can be hard to find the right one for you. If you’re looking for free mystery boxes and a great all round experience, then you need to check out my Cravin review.
I’ll detail everything I found, from the bonus I got when I signed-up, to how it all works and the extra benefits available if you stick around in the long term. You’ll be able to see if Cravin is right for you, and know how to get started as soon as you are ready.
Users at Cravin open boxes which contain trading cards, tech, or collectibles from fandoms like Pokemon, LEGO, different anime shows, and more. Items are pulled from boxes using credits, which are equivalent to $0.01 per credit.
You’ll then pick a box and check what’s in it. Each item will be worth a minimum of 50% of the credit value required to pull it, and if the pulled item is worth less than the value paid, the difference is made up in credits. Any pulled item can be shipped to you, or exchanged for credits subject to a 15% fee, You could just store the item in your inventory and decide later. Once you’ve made your decision, you can't change your mind so choose carefully.
Bonuses are always a key factor when deciding whether or not to join a mystery box site, so I decided to check this out first. Of course before I could access any free online mystery boxes I would have to register, a quick and easy process that took me just a couple of minutes, including reading those important T&Cs.
Once I was inside I was prompted to open my free mystery box and I could either have the contents shipped to my home address, or trade it in for credits towards opening more boxes. This was another simple and straightforward process that meant even if this had been my first mystery box experience, I wouldn’t have felt out of my depth.
As this was all free, this is certainly worth claiming, especially considering the minimal effort involved. That said, there are some things you need to be aware of. If you want your bonus item shipped to you it will cost $4, and if you opt to trade it in there is a 15% trade in fee to consider. Whatever you decide, remember trade ins are final and you can’t change your mind afterwards.
I was able to open my box before I made any sort of deposit, and wasn’t prompted to until I went to explore the platform later on. This no strings approach is a nice touch that definitely put Cravin in the top tier for me.
I should also point out that signing up here and claiming the bonus is age and location dependent. I’m older than 18 years old, and in the US, so I had no problems, but you should check T&Cs to make sure it’s just as simple for you. Before I move on, there are just a couple more things to mention. I didn’t need any sort of Cravin promo code to claim this bonus, but always check the T&Cs to make sure the offer is the same you’re reading about here and you know what to expect.
With the bonus sitting in my inventory I set about exploring Cravin and found it really easy to get around. Of course, this isn’t my first visit to a mystery box site, but it is intuitively designed and seems to flow easily as you look at the available boxes or check out the various rewards that are available. Everything is well set out so you can see all the boxes in different categories like trading cards, collectibles and tech. Choosing and opening a box is very straightforward, so even if it’s your first time, you can understand how it all works.
The menu at the top will take you anywhere you need to go, so you won’t get lost in the site. Your account details and dashboard at the top right can be accessed easily, where you can access your inventory, shipping history, credit balance and top it up if you choose.
As phones are pretty much our default devices, I wanted to see if there was a Cravin app, but I couldn’t find one. Instead, I accessed Cravin using my phone and found that the site is mobile optimized, so there’s no real hurry for Cravin to put an app together anyway. I could do everything on the mobile version, and, similar to what I found in a HypeDrop review, there were a few adjustments for the smaller screen like the top menu now sitting at the bottom. Overall very impressed with how this platform is put together, and the next task was to see if that extended to the payments system.
At Cravin, you need credits to open boxes, and any deposit you make is converted into credits for you to use at the rate of $1 = 100 credits. These are just the onsite currency, and have no other value anywhere. You can use the usual card and banking options, such as:
There are also cryptocurrency options available like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT but check the small print to see if your preferred crypto is accepted.
I could not see any way of withdrawing your credit balance, but you can have your items shipped to you. This process takes 24-48 hours to process then up to a week to get to you, and incurs that $4 shipping fee I mentioned before. You’ll have visibility of the product throughout this process so you can see how long it will take and get in contact with customer support if you need to.
Similar to what I found in a Courtyard.io review, the large number of new users arriving at sites like Cravin will mean there are plenty of questions. That meant my next task was to see how good Cravin was at providing answers, and I have to say they have got this one covered as well. There’s a big ‘How it Works’ page that takes you through everything you’ll see here, and five minutes here can save you plenty of head scratching later. The extensive FAQs section is also easy to find, and this covers the same ground with more quickfire answers. There’s even a blog as well.
While these resources will take care of about 95% of the queries you might have, there will still be occasions when you need help, like if a shipment goes astray or a deposit doesn’t make it to your account. For that there is live chat and you can also pose questions in the community chat and get answers from other users.
With any mystery box site, there is always the question of whether the system is fair, but at Cravin you aren’t left in any doubt. The whole thing is provably fair, and for any Cravin mystery boxes you open you can see the client seed, server seed hash, salt, nonce, and game snapshot ID tied to the activity. If you’re not technically minded this just means the item you get is chosen randomly from the possible contents. Regardless of what you pull, if it is below the full box price, you get credits for the difference, which is a nice touch.
There is also SSL encryption in place to keep everything you do here private, and supply partners are checked out so your details are safe for any deliveries to your home address. I could tell they take transparency and fairness very seriously so nothing here made me think this was anything but a safe, secure, and fair platform.
That covers all of my first impressions, but what about the experience for long term users? This is often an area that some platforms overlook, but as I found in my MrLoot review, getting the ongoing benefits right can take a platform to a whole new level. I was expecting to find a daily box to open here, but it seems Cravin likes to do things differently, and have an alternative for that sitting alongside some other top tier rewards:
The Daily Spin - this is a wheel of fortune type bonus where you spin a wheel with six possible rewards, all credits of different values from 10 to 2500. It’s quick and easy and worth logging in for once a day to add to your balance
Polls - answer questions about your experience or opinions and get credits as a reward. This was just in its infancy when I was here, but expect to see more questions appearing as the things evolve
Quests - these are also something of a work in progress, but in short you are given tasks to complete on Cravin or maybe a partner site and you get more credits for completing them
Feedback - similar to polls but this time you control the narrative. Found a problem? Let them know and be rewarded with credits, the same goes for anything you like and want to see expanded.
Referrals - share your referral link and be rewarded for introducing others. This is a win/win as every person you refer gets you 1000 credits, and so do they once they have completed the qualifying criteria.
Also look out for promotions on social media so you don’t miss out on new developments. Cravin is still evolving when it comes to extra benefits, and while I was here I also saw a leaderboard which looked to be associated with the referral program and quests.
There are still a couple of areas where Cravin is still a work in progress, but I’ve already seen enough to rate this platform highly. The bonus box was easy to claim and every other aspect of my experience was simple and straightforward. The emphasis on fairness will appeal to new players, and experienced players will find everything comfortingly familiar.
All in all, this is a good solid mystery box platform that gets the basics right and has some nice extra touches like the daily wheel. Really good for new players but this will work for just about anyone after collectibles in these niches. I found plenty here to indicate this will be a good fit for most users, and if you want to take a closer look for yourself, the links on this page will take you straight to where you want to go.
Yes. All box openings are provably fair, something you can check every time. If you pull an item that is below box price, you’ll receive the difference in credits.
Yes, you can open a free mystery box as soon as you register, with no Cravin promo code needed.
As soon as you make a deposit at Cravin, it is converted into credits which you can use to open boxes. You can also gain more credits by referring others, completing tasks and spinning the daily wheel.
