It’s a 5-round matchup where you face another player. It happens daily, and you enter a battle with a deck of your five unique cards. In each round, a card from your deck is matched to your opponent’s and used only once throughout the battle.

Based on my review, you win a round if:

• Your drawn battle card has the higher attack value than the other player’s
• Your drawn battle card has the higher defense value if the matched cards’ attack stats are equal (17 vs 17).
• Your Team Synergy (sum of defense values of your 5-card deck) is higher than that of your opponent’s. This is used exclusively if both matched cards have equal attack and defense values.

If all values are equal, Clash5 introduces a deterministic “coin flip” system to determine the winner of a round.

In any case, the goal here is to win 3 out of 5 rounds. Once that happens, your rank increases. But if you lose, your rank decreases.

Defeating a higher-ranked opponent results in a larger rank gain. And if you lose to a lower-ranked opponent, that results in a larger rank loss. And as you climb the ranks, you obtain XP points and unlock rewards like rarer mystery boxes to improve your card collection.

The cards you pull from Clash5’s mystery boxes cannot be shipped to you. That contrasts with my experience during my LastPack review. You can only use Clash5 cards in Battles to climb ranks and obtain potential rewards.
