It’s shopping. It’s mystery box fun. It’s the opportunity to battle other users head to head in a “winner takes all” format. If this sounds like fun to you, then you’ll want to read my Box Madness review.

This platform is a mystery box platform, where you choose themed boxes for a chance to win prizes with varying values. It’s like sticking your hand in a jar and pulling out a slip of paper that tells you what you won – every box is a winner, not every prize is valuable, but it’s entertaining. Here are the details…

What is Box Madness?

This is a mystery box platform where users can purchase site credits, and then use those credits to purchase mystery boxes. Each box has a different theme such as tech, home decor, jewelry, luxury goods and more. Each box also has a different price to open it, which ranges from as little as $0.18 up to $200. Plus you’ll also get information about the risk level associated with each box, plus the chance of winning any of the individual prizes in the box.

This brand operates similar to other mystery box sites, in that every box is a winner, and it operates on a “provably fair” platform. In many cases, the prize you’ll win is less than the price you paid to open the box. The entertainment rests with watching the animations spin to see if you’re going to win a prize that’s worth more – or even considerably more! – than the price you paid for the box. You can then get your prizes shipped to you if you choose, or you can sell them back to the site instantly for credits to use on additional unboxings.

How Box Madness welcomes new users

New users at Box Madness can pick up a two-part bonus as follows:

  • Open three free cases (no purchase or Box Madness promo code is necessary).
  • Get a 20% bonus on your first purchase, up to $100.

The first part of the bonuses where you get to open three free cases is similar to what many other sites offer, which you may have read about in the MrLoot review. While the 20% bonus is considerably higher than those that only offer 5%, I was still hoping for a bigger bonus. There are some sites that offer 50% or 100% bonuses. The Box Madness bonus falls in the middle of the pack – not disappointing, but not overly impressive, either.

Review of the Box Madness rewards program: is it worth it?

Like many similar brands, this platform offers users a rewards program that’s based on collecting XP (experience points). You’ll collect these points by being engaged on the site, which includes opening boxes and battling against fellow users, which I’ll talk about in a moment. I unboxed on the site for perhaps 10 minutes using the original three free cases I received, and during that time period I reached Level 3 of the rewards program, and was halfway to Level 4 – all without spending a penny of my own money.

As you move through the tiers of the rewards program, you’ll get perks such as:

  • Daily free mystery box.
  • Daily rakeback.
  • Weekly rakeback.
  • Monthly rakeback.

Each of these items becomes valuable as you climb the tiers. For example, your daily free box will include more valuable items as you collect more XP. Take note that your XP balance is permanent, meaning your rewards tier is permanent as well.

What are Gems?

This site uses a virtual currency called Gems, which you collect as you open boxes, participate in battles, and take advantage of deals. For example, sometimes your unboxing prize will include Gems alongside the regular prize, or sometimes you’ll get Gems instead of another prize. You can also purchase Gems at the rate of 700 for $1. As you collect Gems, you’ll unlock additional boxes to open. Take note that you “spend” Gems, whereas XP doesn’t go down.

Overall, I think this is a good rewards program with the rakeback, the free boxes, and the ability to collect both XP and Gems. There’s never any question of how much XP you have and how much you need to level-up, as it’s all clearly tracked in your account. My verdict here is that the rewards program is worth your time and effort, especially since the lower levels are easy to obtain – and in fact, you can even get pretty far before you spend any of your own cash.

Assessing site design and the Box Madness mystery boxes experience

The first thing I noticed about this site is that it’s polished and bright, with the white background being a nice change of pace from other brands that have dark backgrounds, such as the one you can read about in the Royale.gg review. There is a professional yet fun feel to the site, and the thoughtful layout makes everything on the site easy to find.

If you’ve used other similar platforms, the navigation on this one should feel familiar to you. You can easily find your account information, the tab to make deposits or request redemptions, your rewards tab and more. Plus sifting through the 250+ boxes by browsing categories or through a search is a simple process. You can easily filter boxes by price, risk level, and even categories such as “Beginner,” “Hot,” “Under $5” and so on.

Here’s what the experience is like:

Unboxings

There’s no app available, but that’s no issue since this is a mobile-first, highly optimized site. The animations spin by smoothly, and the slots-style audio is a nice touch that really adds to the user experience. I found it quite entertaining to watch the prizes roll by, especially when you see that you almost land on a big one. My favorite feature is the instant sellback, as you can tap the sell button right from the unboxing to exchange the prize for site credits.

Battles

Here you battle other users by opening boxes simultaneously. This is a winner-take-all format, as the person who unboxes the most valuable prizes gets BOTH their own prize and their opponent’s prize!

As mentioned elsewhere, I unboxed for quite a long time on the prizes and credits I collected on my three free bonus boxes, and I collected enough XP in the process to get me halfway through Level 3. But eventually I needed to purchase site credits, which brings me to the next part of my Box Madness review…

Review of Box Madness’ payment options

When you’re ready to purchase site credits, you can pay with your credit card, debit card, or Google Pay. Those options are fine, as most people probably use a credit card. However, I would like to see more options available. Similar brands tend to have additional options available including paying with Apple Pay, PayPal, and even cryptocurrency. Once you complete the transaction, your site credits will appear in your account automatically.

When you win and are ready to collect your prizes, you have two options. The first option (for physical items) is to have the prize shipped to you, but you’ll need to accumulate at least $20 in prizes, plus you’ll need to pay for shipping fees as well as customs fees if applicable. This option can also take several weeks to a month for processing and shipment. The second option is to sell the prize back to the site, where you’ll get site credits that you can use to open additional boxes. You can sell prizes back instantly, as you’ll see the feature pop up just as soon as you unbox a prize. You can also collect prizes in your cart, and decide later whether to sell them or keep them.

Take note that this process is similar on other mystery box sites. This site doesn't let you “sell back” the item and then keep the cash. Instead, you can only sell items back for site credits to use for additional unboxings.

Customer service at Box Madness

This brand has a good amount of support documentation available in the form of FAQs, which you can access directly through the site, or you can go through the AI agent on the Live Support platform. If you just have a simple question, this self-help documentation may well give you the answer.

When and if you need help from a human, you’ll be pleased to know that the support staff is easily accessible. I jumped on the Live Support platform and had answers to all my questions in less than five minutes. Overall, it was a great support experience, as the customer service rep was prompt, friendly, and helpful.

Determining if Box Madness is legit

For the next part of this review, I researched the company that runs the site, Rising Rainbow Ltd, which is headquartered in Cyprus. This looks to be a fully registered company, as you can find their documentation online. In addition, a deep dive into the policies, terms, and conditions listed on the site reveal that Box Madness is legit and fully compliant with the law. This includes their AML (anti money laundering) policies, the fact that they require identity verification, as well as the way the site is run overall.

Secondly, I also took a look at the site security, which is solid. The site has a valid security certificate as verified by Google Trust Services, and the entire site encrypts your data. The third party payment platforms used on the site, such as Google Pay and Breeze, are also highly secure. I felt completely comfortable joining the site and purchasing site credits, as I know my data is secure.

Wrapping up the Box Madness review

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed opening boxes on this site. This brand has one of the biggest numbers of site-curated boxes available at around 250+. I love that users can go into the “Deals” section and pick their price for a chance to win. I also liked the transparent rewards program that includes both XP and Gems, which collectively rewards you with cases to open and even rakeback.

When you’re ready to jump in to see what this site is all about, all you have to do is tap on the Box Madness banner on this site to get started.

Box Madness mystery boxes FAQ

🇺🇲 Who is eligible to use Box Madness?

You must be at least 18 years old and living in the US, with the exception of the restricted states of Nevada and Washington. This level of accessibility is quite common; I found a similar situation in my Collectibles review.

🎁 How does the “Deals” feature work at Box Madness?

Here you select a Deal, which tends to be high-value items, and then you select your own price for a chance to win that deal. It’s all completely transparent, as it shows you the exact percentage chance you have of winning. You can literally purchase a chance to win a six-figure prize for pennies, but your chance of winning is very low (e.g., 0.0001%). Up your price, and your chances of winning go up too. These items include prizes like cars, luxury watches and other items.

📦 Do you need to prove your identity to open Box Madness mystery boxes?

You don’t need to go through the identity verification process to open boxes, but at some point you will be required to complete the process. In some cases you may need to do it when you make a purchase, otherwise you’ll need to complete it before you redeem a prize.
