Valorant announces their new map

Riot Games has just announced that Valorant is getting a new map. The newest addition to the game is called Fracture and it will be the seventh map in their line up. How will it impact the odds on esports betting sites, and the game overall? Find out more!

The map

Fracture has an interesting layout and it looks like it is going to be maybe one of the biggest change ups to tactics in the game. Any esports team that lands themselves in this map may have to change up their entire strategy.

The biggest changes come from the positions of the attackers and defenders. When you look at the map, it sort of looks like a giant capital H. Both of the bomb locations on the map are near the centre. Think about them being close to the centre horizontal line on a capital H.

Normally, attackers would spawn in the middle of the map and make their way to the bomb locations while defenders would spawn rear the edges close to the bombs. On this map, it’s the other way around. Attackers spawn on the edges and defenders spawn in the centre.

The defenders will have to leave their locations of relative safety in order to defend the bombs. Normally defenders have a more passive play style that rewards them staying in one place. This map requires the defenders to think on their feet a little more. Attackers can come from both ends of the map and cut them off. While the attackers will still be moving about the most, the defenders will need to be a little bit more proactive if they want to keep up.

Esports

We don’t think that we will see Fracture enter competitive play for a short while — so don't get too excited about using esports bonus bet offers on new markets right away. The last map that was released, Breeze, didn’t see play until after a full Masters event. With such huge changes to the map set up and play styles in Fracture, we expect that Riot will wait for some time before they include it in the esports scene. Most of the top teams will need to take some time to figure out some tactics and ways to deal with the map.

When is it coming out?

You should expect to see Fracture show up in Valorant next week. It will be launching alongside the patch 3.05 update. This is part of Valorant Episode 3 Act 2 Battle Pass. They have said that Act 2 is launching on September 9th, so you should expect it around then.

Act 2 of the Espisode 3 Battle Pass will also come with plenty of new weapon skins, gun buddies, cards, and sprays. However, you shouldn’t expect a new character. Riot Games seem to have a system about major releases in Valorant. They release two new agents and one new map during each Battle Pass. Unfortunately, they don’t have a structure as to which Act of the pass will contain an agent and which will have a map. Now that the map has been announce, it is almost a certainty that Act 3 will see the release of a new agent.
