The Starcraft 2 Nations tournament has already started, and the group stage is almost over. This will leave us with eight teams in the Playoffs stage, where the real fun begins.

Everything is set, and we’re waiting for a couple more matches to end so we can have all eight teams seeded in the bracket. In that light, bettors will have a handful of options to bet on as only the best teams and players in the world will participate in the Playoff stage.

The NationWars tournament is a bit different than any other SC2 tournament. Since this game is mostly played in a 1v1 composition, it’s always a treat to see teams competing against each other. So, this tournament features eight invited teams and eight qualified teams that had to battle out through the qualification phase. Therefore, we have 16 teams in total that are divided into four double-elimination brackets. This format is especially popular in SC2 as well as in some other RTS games like WC3 Reforged.

Since we’re halfway through the group phase, some teams have already made their way into the playoffs. In that light, playoffs are the next stage of the tournament where teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket where all games are Bo7. This will bring us a lot of games and matches to bet on, especially when it comes to the semifinals and finals. As for the match format, teams will go against each other in a bit weird kind of way where both 1v1 and 2v2 matter.

Therefore, each team will have two players, and once two teams meet, all players will have to play against each other. Simply speaking, we will have four 1v1 matches and two 2v2 matches.

The best teams so far

The tournament started with some interesting matches in group A where Germany lost to Poland, and Finland lost to Peace Team (representatives from Russia). The funny thing is that both Germany and Finland were invited teams. Therefore, we had the first underdog surprise in the tournament with Team Peace defeating Poland in order to take the upper seed in the playoffs. On the other hand, group B was doing as expected where team USA and team Netherlands qualified further in the playoffs.

As for groups C and D, one thing is sure, South Korea made their way into the playoffs without breaking a sweat. It’s a good idea to follow them closely in the playoffs stage and bet on them if they play against any team that came from the qualification phase. Also, South Korea was given one of the best odds by the bookies, considering the fact that they are possible champions of the tournament. Underdog Teams

As in any other tournament, some teams are considered underdogs, and they are often given small chances of winning. However, we all saw what happened in group A where Team Peace eliminated Germany and Poland in order to grab the first place. Therefore, betting on Team Peace is definitely a good idea, no matter the team they play against. Their strategy is quite simple and straightforward as they rush their enemies and constantly provoke fights in the early game. All in all, with Harstem and uThermal side by side, they look pretty strong and even might be able to beat the South Korean team.
