Top 5 rarest emotes in Fortnite

While there is no way to know for certain which is the rarest Fortnite emote, we can point to some of the most obvious ones. Here’s a list of the five rarest emotes in Fortnite:

EmoteRelease dateLast seen in storeChapter/Season
Kiss The CupJuly 27, 2019July 29, 2019Chapter One, Season Nine
Zombie ShamblesNovember 6, 2020November 6, 2020Chapter Two, Season Four
Welcome!October 11, 2019October 13, 2019Chapter One, Season Ten
Out With the OldDecember 29, 2020January 1, 2021Chapter Two, Season Five
FreshDecember 15, 2017November 21, 2018Chapter One, Season Two

1. Kiss The Cup

The Kiss the Cup emote was only around for 2 days back in July 2019. It was launched to celebrate the 2019 Fortnite World Cup, an esports tournament that was won by the player Bugha. I have fond memories of that World Cup, and my experiences at Fortnite betting sites during the competition!

2. Zombie Shambles

24 hours was the window you had to claim this remote for your own. Those who were lucky enough to have been around would have gotten their hands on an awesome Halloween-inspired emote for just 200 V-Bucks. This rare emote would have your enemies trembling in their boots!

3. Welcome!

The Welcome emote was around for a total of 3 days towards the end of the tenth season of chapter one. Despite its low cost of only 100 V-Bucks, the emote had extremely low sales, with players finding it uninspiring all round.

4. Out With the Old

Another old emote here, if you weren’t around back in the closing days of 2020, then you’ll probably never get your hands on this emote unfortunately. It was added to the Fortnite store to see out the end of 2020 and welcome in the new year.

5. Fresh

This emote is a little different to the others on this list, as it was in the store for almost 1 year. However, it was last seen all the way back in 2018, so you need to be a true OG for this one. The main reason it was removed from the store was due to a copyright infringement claim, so we don’t suspect we’ll be seeing this one again anytime soon.

What makes the rarest Fortnite emote?

There can be a number of different elements that impact the rarity of a Fortnite emote, some of which include:

  • Limited Availability: Released for a very short period and not frequently returned to the Item Shop.
  • Exclusive Events: Tied to specific events or collaborations that are no longer available.
  • Seasonal Exclusivity: Part of a specific season’s Battle Pass and not re-released in subsequent seasons.
  • No Re-releases: Never or rarely brought back to the Item Shop after its initial release.
  • Low Initial Sales: Initially overlooked or not purchased by many players, leading to fewer players owning it.

Conclusion - keep your eyes peeled for new emotes!

Fortnite emotes can be a badge of honor, setting you apart in the gaming community. In this guide, we’ve highlighted some of the rarest emotes, delving into their histories and what makes them so elusive. Whether it’s due to limited availability, exclusive events, or simply low initial sales, these emotes have become legendary. Don’t miss out on the next batch to come through!
