As the group stage on PARI Please 2023 evolves, we start to have a few matches to review and analyze. Here, we’ll talk about the clash between FURIA and Aurora, one that was very important to FURIA as they try to organize the new roster.

When it comes to the results, FURIA took the high road and was able to secure 3 points right off the bat. The interesting aspect of this series was that none of the teams won their map picks – FURIA lost Mirage and Aurora lost Ancient. In the decider, despite the great effort from Aurora, reaching the 10 point mark, FURIA’s CT-side was near-perfect and more than enough to secure the win.

Mirage – 13 x 11 in favor of Aurora

Mirage was probably the closest map of the series, as both teams had similar performances on both halves. The first one ended in a tie (6 x 6), while the second half was as close as it could be without having to be decided on overtime (7 x 5).

Ancient – 13 x 11 in favor of FURIA

With Ancient’s CT-side being clearly stronger, the scoreboard was all over the place. To paint the picture, FURIA started out with a 10 x 2 CT-side. Along the same lines, Aurora’s CT-side was also stellar (9 x 3), but not enough to stop FURIA from stealing their pick.

Overpass – 13 x 10 in favor of FURIA

Despite the early lead acquired by Aurora, which raised their hopes quite a bit, FalleN’s expertise on Overpass, alongside the arT’s and KSCERATO’s great performances, was enough to turn the whole map around. What started off with a 8 x 4 for Aurora, ended in a 13 x 10 for FURIA due to their 9 x 2 CT-side.

Conclusion

FURIA had a lot to show for themselves on PARI Please 2023 as they had not been performing at their best recently. Well, this victory was not a title but it surely displayed their will to adapt to the new roster. As for Aurora, they didn’t make FURIA’s job easy, so they deserve our props for putting up such a fight.
