Blizzard Entertainment introduced Shion to the Overwatch universe on June 26th.
She's a Damage Hero from the Hashimoto Clan.
Her attacks comprise Kira Pistols, Evade, Execution, and Joyride.
Overwatch’s rebrand continues with the addition of Hero 52, otherwise known as Shion. Hailing from the Hashimoto Clan in Tokyo, Japan, she’s a Flanker who’ll join the roster as a Damage Hero with key abilities like Evade and Execution.
Straddling her two Kira Pistols, Shion rides on a futuristic motorcycle (Joyride) that gets her around the map and is part of her attack arsenal. Shion’s abilities shine in one-on-one situations, so the players who will maximize her are the patient ones. What’s more to know about her? Here’s the full lowdown.
As the latest addition to the Overwatch universe, Shion joins the roster as a fast-moving Flanker. Her strength comes from her mobility and burst damage. When playing with Shion, think of her as a Damage Hero who will take numerous quick fights instead of holding her position. That means that you will need to attune to her timing, pressure, and movement. Shion goes into battles mounted on her Joyride motorcycle, then does damage to enemies with her dual pistols before using Evade to get away without punishment.
Chaos is the recipe to her success, and the more confusion she can create, the more likely she is to isolate targets and have a go at them. Even when you see players in Overwatch 2 betting sites use her in front of their attack line, don't be swayed. Hero 52 is best used to attack from the sides. But even with that, don't just attack at any time; choose the right moments.
Part of Overwatch's rebrand is creating heroes with abilities that have a clear purpose. For Shion, realizing her true strength will require you to combine her tools, which include:
As a Flanker, Shion can recover her health when fighting away from her teammates. That means that with dedicated learning of the new Tokyo map, you will be able to locate health packs on the map and get more value from her abilities. As you may well be aware, finding a well-placed health pack is often the difference maker in battles.
Shion's primary weapons are the dual Kira Pistols that she often launches into battle with. Used properly in close and mid-range battles, they are a cheat code for controlling fights with her. Even more importantly, combining them with her rapid movements means you stay ahead of the enemy.
Because of her agility, enemies often try to escape when battling Shion one-on-one. The best way to do a clean job on them is using Execution, which fires an X-shaped volley of shots. Tighten the spread by holding the ability while it fires. With that, escaping enemies have little to no chance.
Battles do get heated in Overwatch, and when they do, having a way out to reorganize makes the difference. Shion's Evade ability allows her to quickly escape and gain overhealth, improving her survivability. Use it wisely to wiggle your way out of tense battles.
The Joyride is Shion's futuristic motorcycle. It is part of her rapid movement arsenal and also helps her explore the map quickly. During fights, you can rev the motorcycle to dismount and launch it towards enemies. This deals with impact and explosion damage. A cooldown follows, after which Shion can summon another bike.
With her Satsuriku Spree ultimate, Shion rushes forward thrice as she fires in a storm of gunfire. This ability is not far taken from her aggressive personality. Caution is needed, though, as it can leave her exposed each time. The best time for the Satsuriku Spree is when enemies are at their weakest, and you need to finish them off.
Our best strategies for using her are:
Overwatch players tracking the new character additions will love what Shion, the latest one, brings. Excelling as a one-on-one fighter, she uses her rapid movements to confuse enemies and her Kira Pistols for damage. When they become too strong, she can always hurl the Joyride at them or evade and get a health refill in the heat of the battle. She attacks when the time is right, and so patience is needed with her. But her capacity to create chaos is what helps her set up conditions for her to win fights. You too can leverage your knowledge of her kit to make smart bets on teams that deploy her; use our recommended Overwatch 2 betting sites to make your picks.
