OWL Unvault Mega Bundle in Overwatch 2 – Full Breakdown

The vault cracked open, and for over a week, it was a banger. The OWL Unvault Mega Bundle hit the Overwatch 2 shop in mid-September, bringing back four Legendary skins from the golden era of the Overwatch League.

It was a tight, nostalgic bundle with a real history behind it, but it’s now rotated out. From Widowmaker’s Ange de la Mort to D.Va’s 2020 Pacific All-Stars, this was one of the stronger esports bundles we’ve seen in the post-OWL era. The shop window closed on 23 September 2025, so if you missed it, you’re on rerun watch.

Every skin that returned

This bundle wasn’t filler. These were all high-tier cosmetics with real OWL-era context, most tied to major league moments or limited-time events on Overwatch betting sites. A few hadn’t been seen since their debut, which made this drop feel more like a curated unvault than a standard sale.

Widowmaker — Ange de la Mort (June Joust 2021)

Originally released during the June Joust 2021, this skin gave Widowmaker a full skeletal makeover. Think reaper-style hood, dark bone detailing, and ghostly visual effects that gave her a whole different kind of menace. It became one of her most striking OWL cosmetics, but its shop window was short-lived. Making this return a win for anyone who missed the original drop.

Widowmaker

Reinhardt — 2020 Atlantic All-Stars

Dropped during the 2020 OWL All-Stars celebration, this Reinhardt skin went full regal knight. Gold plating, deep navy tones, and just enough flair to stand out without going overboard. It represented the Atlantic region in that year’s regional showdown, which gave it a legacy tie-in many players still remember. If you played back then, you probably remember how quickly this disappeared.

Reinhardt

D.Va — 2020 Pacific All-Stars

Released alongside Reinhardt during the same 2020 All-Stars event, this one took D.Va’s mech and splashed it with bold Pacific colours, teal, purple, and shimmering gold. It’s always been a fan favourite thanks to its bright contrast and clean lines, and for D.Va mains, it’s been one of the most-requested skins to return. The wait’s over, at least for those who grabbed it in time.

Zarya — Rock Climber (OWL Shop 2023)

Unlike the other three, this Zarya skin didn’t come from a specific All-Stars event. Instead, Rock Climber dropped as a standalone Legendary via the OWL shop in 2023. It gave Zarya a totally different vibe, cargo harness, ropes, mountaineering gear, instead of her usual powerlifter or military looks. It wasn’t all-time, but it was unique, and its return added some variety to the bundle.

Each Legendary came with a matching spray. For players who like theming their profile without changing mains, it was a tidy add-on.

4,500 Coins for the set

The 4,500 Overwatch Coins bundle came in at a 43% discount compared to buying the items individually (normally 8,000 Coins).  If you already owned one or more of the skins, the system prorated the discount at checkout. You could also grab each skin individually through the Hero Gallery during the sale window.

During the event, you could find the bundle in the Shop tab under Featured, or by searching “OWL.” Once purchased, everything is unlocked to your Hero Gallery, with skins equippable through each hero’s Skins tab.

The cosmetics only worked if you owned the relevant hero. This still applies for anyone who picked up pieces individually.

Why these skins came back

After the Overwatch League officially shut down in 2023, Blizzard ran an OWL Team Inventory Sale through 2024. Then came the promise of legacy non-team skins returning to the main shop in 2025, and they’ve delivered on that steadily.

This Mega Bundle followed on from June’s DPS Unvault and shows Blizzard is still keen to keep OWL-era cosmetics in the rotation, even as the OWCS era moves forward. For longtime fans, these unvaults have become second chances to grab rare looks that were once locked behind OWL tokens or tight event windows.

Compared to June’s DPS Bundle

The DPS Unvault Bundle in June 2025 featured:

  • Mecha Melee Mei
  • Biker:76
  • Pirate Ship Bastion
  • 3 matching sprays

That pack sold for 3,800 Coins and stayed up until 24 June 2025. In comparison, the Mega Bundle gave you one more Legendary, more role variety (not just DPS), and a slightly higher price, making it the more stacked of the two.

Skins, sprays, and the vault door slamming shut

If you jumped on it, you got one of the better OWL legacy bundles we’ve seen so far. The 4,500 Coins price was fair given the volume. Four Legendaries, four sprays, and all of them rooted in actual OWL history. Even better, it came with built-in prorated pricing, which meant returning players didn’t feel punished for grabbing one or two skins earlier.

With the OWL Unvault Mega Bundle now vaulted again, it joins a growing list of esports-themed cosmetics that may or may not resurface. No guarantee it returns. So if you missed it, keep an eye on the shop resets and Blizzard’s event calendar.
