The Dota 2 DPC 2022 is well underway with some excellent Dota on display. This week sees two of the top Western EU teams go head to head for the top spot in their group. Two-time TI winners OG will be playing Division 1 newbies Gaimin Gladiators on Wednesday.

Who is OG?

OG have become a staple of the DPC’s Division 1 over the years and their new roster is still making some significant waves. Way back in 2018, OG claimed victory over PSG.LGD and raised the aegis at TI 8 for the very first time.

While fans may no longer be seeing the famous faces of Ceb, NoTail and Topson in front of the screen, they are still working behind the scenes to allow the new roster to take the centre stage. Alongside the coach that took them to TI10 last year (Misha, Mikhail Agatov), fans should also get to know Yuragi (Artem Golubiev), bzm (Bozhidar Bogdanov), Ammar (Ammar Al-Assaf) and Taiga (Tommy Le).

What about Gaimin Gladiators?

Meanwhile, Gaimin Gladiators are rather newer to Division 1 of the Dota 2 DPC 2022. The former Team Tickles made quite an impression last season, taking many teams by surprise and storming to the top of the group. In fact, they made such an impression that they were able to secure sponsorship, a huge feather in any pro team’s cap.

Headed up by captain Seleri (Melchior Hillencamp), it seems other Division 1 teams have been unprepared for the strategies and left Gladiators to take their place atop the group.

Conclusion - who will come out on top?

As always, it’s virtually impossible to make a call about who will win any given best of 3 in the Dota 2 DPC league. However, it seems that fans will almost certainly be guaranteed an exciting match up between veteran team OG and brand new up and comers Gaimin Gladiators.
