After a rough start for the season, Furia had the chance to get back on track on Gamers8 2023, a tournament that brought some of the best Tier-S teams together.
All was looking good after Nuke, but it all came crashing down on the Brazilians after NaVi was able to close Mirage and Ancient. Let’s take a closer look into this series to see where Furia let the ball drop…
Here’s a rundown of the map picks for this Bo3:
Nuke unfolded in a very interesting way, that’s for sure. To start off, NaVi was able to finish the first half on the CT side with a good lead of 10x5 – a score that led many to think that it would just be another walk in the park for Natus Vincere.
Despite that, Furia still had their CT side up their sleeves. Said and done, Furia was able to stop virtually every push from s1mple and his teammates, leading to an 11x1 second half for Furia and, consequently, the map.
On Mirage, NaVi’s map pick, the first half unfolded in almost the same way since the scoreboard was also a 10x5 for NaVi. Despite that, unlike on Nuke, Furia was not able to bring the game back and ended up losing the map – even though the T side came to an 8x6 in favor of the Brazilians.
We do have to give props to Fallen for this outstanding performance of Mirage. Despite the loss, he was the best-rated, most impactful player on the server. See his stats below:
| Player | K (hs) | A (f) | D | KAST | K-D Diff | ADR | FK Diff | Rating 2.0 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| FalleN | 31 (6) | 0 (0) | 17 | 75.9% | +14 | 97.3 | +5 | 1.58 |
If we had to talk about Furia’s performance on Ancient in one word, it would be “disaster”...
We’re unsure why that happened, but it seemed like Furia’s players were left startled after Mirage. On top of that, s1mple and b1t had what was probably their best performances so far in the season. Here’s what their stats looked like after the map was over:
| Player | K (hs) | A (f) | D | KAST | K-D Diff | ADR | FK Diff | Rating 2.0 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| b1t | 28 (13) | 0 (0) | 6 | 100.0% | +22 | 109.7 | +2 | 2.04 |
| s1mple | 22 (6) | 4 (1) | 10 | 85.0% | +12 | 111.0 | +2 | 1.72 |
Well, we can’t say there’s anything left for Furia on Gamers8 2023. As for Natus Vincere, the team will face Vitality to fight for a spot in the Semi-Finals of the Single Elimination Bracket for Gamers8 2023.
