The first time I played Nolan, I felt like I was skating through the jungle on cosmic rails. Zipping between walls, spawning those Rifts. Even bursting people down before they realised I was in the fight.
If you're looking for a fast-paced jungler who rewards crisp mechanics but doesn't punish you for missing one dash, Nolan in MLBB is still one of the strongest picks in the role. This guide goes into detail on how to build him, use his skills right, and keep your snowball going from jungle clear to Lord steal.
Nolan is a high-energy assassin with zero mana issues and a kit that spawns Rifts with nearly every action. If two Rifts touch, they explode. Pulling enemies in, chunking health bars, and refunding energy so you can keep going. His burst is unreal once you master the rhythm, but he’s not a CC bot, and mistiming combos will leave you wide open.
Right now, he’s thriving in the jungle meta. Especially after Patch 1.9.20 left him untouched, which means his core builds are still meta-safe.

Nolan’s strength is in how his Rifts interact and not in big cooldown ultimates or stat-check trades. If you're new to Nolan in ML or Mobile Legends betting sites, here’s what you need to know about him:
Every skill you cast spawns a Rift. When two Rifts collide, they pull enemies in and explode. This is your bread and butter for burst and energy regen.
It’s a rectangular slash in front of Nolan that drops a Rift on hit. Low cooldown, great for clearing jungle or lane minions. I always max this first.
A dash-slash in a line that also drops a Rift. You can cross small walls with it, and it resets the Cosmic Leap timer, so it’s a key piece of your all-in rotation.
This one’s sick. It purifies Nolan, then drops three slashes and three Rifts in quick succession before dashing him backward. Use it to disengage or to finish someone safely.
Patch 1.8.56 removed the slow from his passive but compensated by giving bonus energy on Rift detonations that hit minions. So his early jungle clear actually got faster, even if his ganks lost a little CC power.
Nolan’s kit naturally fits the Assassin emblem tree, and there’s one setup that’s been working especially well since the last few patches. It gives you the early pressure you need and the scaling to keep bursting targets all game.
| #️⃣ Tier | 💡 Talent | 📝 Description |
|---|---|---|
| 1️⃣ | Rupture | Flat Pen early lets you clear faster. |
| 2️⃣ | Seasoned Hunter | Bonus Turtle/Lord damage helps snowball. |
| 3️⃣ | Lethal Ignition | Triggers on three-hit bursts, fits perfectly with your Rift combo pattern. |
| ✅ Spell | ➡️ Use Case |
|---|---|
| Ice Retribution | Essential for smite control and MS steal to chase down enemies. |
| Purify | Useful in lane for escaping point-and-click lockdowns (not recommended unless off-meta). |

I’ve tried tankier hybrid setups, but Nolan is just better in ML when you lean into his assassin identity. Here’s what I build:
| 💡 Item | 📝 Description |
|---|---|
| Tough Boots | The early CC reduction is non-negotiable. |
| Blade of the Heptaseas | Boosts ambush damage with your enhanced basic. |
| Sky Piercer | This is meta on Nolan right now. Flat Pen plus dash damage. |
| Hunter Strike | Gives you extra MS after combos, which keeps the pressure up. |
| Malefic Roar | You need this to delete tanks or anyone with early defence items. |
| Blade of Despair | Pure damage finish. Swap to Immortality or Winter Truncheon if they’re diving you. |

You don’t need godlike reflexes, but you do need to understand how to set Rifts quickly and chain them cleanly.
Cosmic Leap → Skill 1 → Skill 2 This creates overlapping Rifts instantly, usually enough to delete a marksman or mage.
Gauge → Leap → Expansion → Gauge → Expansion Spam Rifts while closing gaps. Works great for picking off backliners after a fight starts.
Leap → Skill 1 → Ult The Ult drops three auto-activating Rifts, and the back-dash gives you space to reset. Great when you’ve already forced flickers.
A lot of Nolan players mess this up (me included, early on). His whole kit is about setting off those Rifts, right? But if you misplace your dash or spam skills too fast, you’ll miss the pull and lose most of your burst.
Start with one basic into a Rift. Then time your dash or Skill 1 to collide with it. Don’t overlap it too fast. You want that satisfying pop when the two connect, not just skill spam that leaves the enemy walking away at half HP. Try going into Practice mode and setting up the triple-Rift burst a few times. Once it clicks, your damage feels way more reliable. Like, one clean combo and the enemy marksman’s gone kind of stuff.

Here’s a cheat-sheet of who gives Nolan trouble, and what to do about it.
| 🦸♂️ Hero | 💪 Threat | 💡 What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Phoveus | Punishes dashes | Bait with Leap, escape with Ult |
| Khufra | Stops dash with Bouncing Ball | Save Ult to cleanse knock-up |
| Franco / Minsitthar | Locks you down instantly | Flank wide, build Tough Boots |
| Anti-burst items | Twilight, Antique, Winter Truncheon | Shift to sustain or build Roar earlier |
Nolan isn’t topping tier lists in ML right now, but I still love running him. There’s just something fun about chaining Rifts and constantly dashing through walls. Once you get that timing down, he can still carry games without needing buffs or spotlight. Try him out, you won’t regret it.
