Let's talk about Spirit Blossom skins. If you’ve been a League of Legends fan for a while, you already know this skin line isn’t just a visual treat. Ever since it dropped back in 2020, Spirit Blossom has stood out for how deep it dives into Ionian folklore.
So when Riot teased its return in 2025 with Season 2, Acts 1 and 2, it got all excited. What I didn’t expect was a lineup featuring a bunch of non-Ionian champs. It definitely raised some eyebrows, but turns out, there's a good reason for it. Here’s everything you need to know.
Release date: April 30, 2025
Here’s the full lineup for Act 1:
Dubbed the "Wandering Queen". A celestial guide with custom animations and voice lines. Majestic is the word.

The "Ready Hand". Elegant, sorrowful, and completely reimagined in flowing spiritual motifs.

Bard already lives in the unknown, so this spirit-themed overlay only deepens his mythic energy.

A surprising but perfect blend of darkness and nature. He somehow looks deadly and serene at once.

Basically made for this skin line. Her vines bloom in a spirit-garden palette that suits her perfectly.

Available at Battle Pass level 10. Riot turned him into a serene forest guardian, and it works perfectly.

Level 50 Battle Pass reward. All sparkle and elegance. She’s literally glowing royalty.

You will find pastel tones and Ionian-inspired effects across every skin. Act 1 nails the consistency while giving each champ unique visual flavor.
Expected release: June 2025
While Riot hasn’t confirmed these yet, here’s what’s been pulled from PBE files and early datamining:
Regal, divine, and radiant. Her wings alone make her feel like a mythic centerpiece.

Retains her primal hunter vibe but adds a calm, spiritual aesthetic. Still wild, just more serene.

Though she’s Ionian (not a non-Ionian pick), she blends effortlessly into this skin line. Monk-core perfection.

Riot’s newest artistic soul gets a dreamy, emotional makeover. His animations are reportedly gorgeous.

Expected to be the Act 2 Battle Pass reward. A surprisingly elegant take on Zed, softening his usual edge.

Consistent with Act 1. Flowing fabrics, subtle sparkles, and that now-signature Spirit Blossom aura. Act 2 looks like a more mystical evolution of Act 1’s vibe.
This stirred up some real conversation in the Spirit Blossom community and on Mobile Legends betting sites, where League discussions are not uncommon. Spirit Blossom skins' roots are deeply related to the lore of the Ionia region, so folks expected champions from there to get Spirit Blossom skins. But Riot has shaken things up by adding non-Ionians.
According to Riot, these skins aren’t meant to be canon. Instead, they’re legends told within the Ionian world. Think of it like in-universe folklore. How Ionian storytellers might imagine these champions as spirit beings. It’s like if someone in Ionia wrote a fairytale and featured Morgana as a divine judge.
This gives Riot so much room to play. Instead of being locked to Ionian champs, they get to reimagine other characters through that same ethereal lens. And it adds new layers to the skin line. Morgana isn’t from Ionia, but as a radiant spirit figure she’s perfect for it.

Reception’s been a bit of a mix. A lot of fans love the idea of reinterpreting champions through different cultural lenses. For players who care more about visuals and vibe than hard lore alignment, the skins hit all the right notes. Forums are full of folks praising the animations, color palettes, and how perfectly even champs like Morgana (who’s usually much darker thematically) will blend into the Spirit Blossom aesthetic.
But there’s definitely been pushback too. Some hardcore lore fans feel like the inclusion of non-Ionian champs messes with the skin line’s original thematic clarity. That said, even the critics mostly agree that the skins themselves look incredible. It's less a debate about quality and more a conversation about how far a theme can stretch before it loses its identity.
Here’s an overview of the skins that have been confirmed for Act 1, and the ones that are rumored to be included in Act 2:

Season 2 of Spirit Blossom has taken a beloved skin line and given it a fresh look. Act 1 brought new champs, sick visuals, and a ton of narrative flavor. And Act 2 is expected to do the same. It doesn’t matter if you're all-in on the folklore expansion or still side-eyeing the non-Ionian picks, you can’t deny Riot have brought their A-game to Season 2 so far.
This could be a turning point for thematic skin lines. Riot’s showing that they’re willing to reinterpret and remix their own universe. Spirit Blossom has gone from an Ionian story to a storytelling framework, which means more flexibility and, hopefully, more surprises. As long as they keep this balance of artistic vision and thematic respect, I’m all for it. Spirit Blossom’s still got soul. And a lot more stories to tell.
