February 23rd saw the release of the latest Dota 2 patch, 7.31. It’s got a lot of people excited with at least one major update confirmed. So, what is it? And what else can we expect from 7.31?
One thing’s for certain: Dota 2 patch 7.31 is going to change things. Not only will it affect the casual players, but it could have an impact on the pro scene as well. This means betting could be affected! Stay with us as we cover all of these eventualities in our latest Dota 2 patch update guide.
What’s changed? Well, Valve (the Dota 2 developer) has listed quite a few things that could really change the way we enjoy the game.
Firstly, there’s a ‘rework’ to the Techies Demolitions pack. This pack was first released all the way back in 2014 and has become infamous amongst fans. Now, a number of changes have been made. Status Trap and Remote Mines have been removed and base damage has been increased by 12.
There are also a couple of basic new abilities including Sticky Bomb, Proximity Mines and Reactive Tazer. These guys are looking like really strong characters now!
But what’s even more exciting is the announcement of the new hero, Primal Beast. This fearsome creature is about to shake up the whole game. He’s a Disabler, Durable and an Initiator with an attack of 62-64. Exciting stuff! We’re really surprised to see him instead of a character from an anime, so it’ll be interesting to see how the Dota 2 community takes it.
The latest Dota 2 patch also sees a number of character and item updates. Stats have changed, animations have been tweaked and there’s plenty more. With any luck, these will all contribute to an even more enjoyable gaming experience.
A couple of other points to know from the Dota 2 patch are that Neutral Creeps now all have the standard attack type and that they increase their HP by 30. There are three new Neutral Creeps to bring to the mix too.
On top of this, there are three new items: Revenant’s Brooch, Wraith Pact and Boots of Bearing. By the way, if you’re looking for a great place to bet on Dota 2, we recommend checking out Bet365. Without having too much information about what this Techies Demolitions ‘rework’ is going to look like, it’s hard to say exactly how much of an impact it will have on eSports. After all, Techies is rarely played at this level. However, if it is as major as anticipated, it could see a huge change!
We recommend keeping a close eye on this. There hasn’t been a major update to the game for six months, so this one could be a real game-changer.

February 23rd saw the announcement of the latest Dota 2 patch and things are looking very exciting indeed. It’s the first major update in six months following a bunch of smaller ones throughout that period, and it looks set to shake up the pro scene and therefore betting quite a bit!
Consider this: there are major character and item updates, so this could play into the hands of some teams more than others. Each team has preferred characters and items, so if these are boosted, it could have the chance of making that team even better. On the flip side, if a team’s favorite characters are weakened, so will the whole quality of the team. Tense times!

The patch is going live at 12pm PST or 8pm GMT if you’re based in the UK, on February 23rd. And we cannot wait! The fact that this is going to be the first major update to the game in six months is certainly something to get excited about.
Our prediction is that most of this Dota 2 patch update will revolve around the Techies Demolition pack. We love this pack, so the fact that it’s being tweaked makes us a little nervous. However, we’re confident that Valve will get this right and bring us something to be happy about.
Until then, we’ll just have to wait and see how it pans out. But believe us, we’ll be counting down the hours until that moment!
