As the Quarter-finals at IEM Sydney 2023 end, it becomes clear that the match between FaZe and ENCE was more than just a series. With FaZe completely wrecking ENCE on Ancient, this could be considered a statement for what they have in store for Counter-Strike 2.
Despite the expectations of a close game, FaZe showcased complete control by beating ENCE in a sweeping 2-0 victory. They began their way to the Semi-Finals by first seizing Nuke with a score of 13-5. This set the tone for the match, and by the time they clashed on Anubis, FaZe made a true statement by shutting down ENCE 13-0. The decider map, Ancient, was left untouched as FaZe finished their business in two with style and character.
On Nuke, FaZe appeared superior, ending the first half 8-4 in their favor and concluding the game 13-5. Paweł 'dycha' Dycha from ENCE tried his best to turn the scoreboard in their favor by reaching 18 kills, a 116.4 ADR, and a 1.63 rating. His individual performance, however, was not enough to overcome FaZe’s incredible teamwork.
