This Thursday (27/07) Furia played against Monte, a team that had a good start by overcoming Imperial in the first match. The same can be said for Furia, who bagged their victory against Grayhound.

Mirage

As the score of 16x13 suggests, Monte had to fight for the win. In fact, Furia was the one to take the lead – reaching an 8x3 at the best point. Despite that, Monte found their game and managed to get the comeback, turning the scoreboard from 8x3 to 8x13. Even though Furia made some good efforts, they never got to lead the board again and ended up losing the map.

Overpass

This round was definitely a show-stopper. Furia completely dominated Monte and bagged the win with a comfortable 16x5 and secured the decider.

When we take a look at some stats for this map it becomes clear that Furia has been working on their Overpass. In fact, Guerri (Furia’s coach) has stated that, before Fallen’s arrival, Furia always avoided this map.

He also said that Fallen brought a game plan for Overpass, which was applied. From the looks of it, The Professor’s tactics were very effective. On top of that, Fallen was the best-rated player on the server, being awarded a satisfying 1.61 rating on HLTV.

Ancient

Ancient was where the plans fell through for Furia, and the whole team is to blame for that. Despite a good start until the middle of the first half, the team started struggling with the tactics and was never able to get ahead of Monte.

The game came to a close when the scoreboard read 16x7, with 4 out of the 5 players from Monte getting HLTV ratings above 1.23. The name of the game was Woro2k, who boasted an incredible K/D of 21-8 (+13) and a rating of 1.62.

Well, with the win Monte heads to the Group Stages and will face GamerLegion in the Opening Round. As for Furia, it’s not all over for them. They will face The Mongolz in the Lower Round 2, a match that will decide who takes one of the open spots for the Group Stage.
