Fortnite started its first season in 2017, and there have been many since, with the latest being Chapter 6, Season 1. But with every new season bringing exciting releases, fans are all asking, “When does the Fortnite season end?”
Epic Games has launched 30 seasons that have seen the release of new cosmetics, characters, weapons, and events. Every season can have a slightly longer term, so fans aren’t always aware of how soon it will end. In this guide, we will highlight when you can expect the current Fortnite season end date to happen.
The current season is Chapter 6, Season 1 and it is due to end in February 2025. The season began in December, which places the end of the season slightly later than standard for Epic Games. But it’s not uncommon for the first seasons of chapters to run a little longer.
By the time the season ends on Friday, February 21, 2025, it will have been running for 82 days. While it has been on the longer side, there have been several exciting features, crossovers, and live events.
💡 Season | ▶️ Detail | 📆 Timing |
---|---|---|
Chapter 6, Season 1 | End Date | Friday, February 21, 2025 @ 05:59 AM |
Chapter 6, Season 2 | Start Date | Friday, February 21, 2025 @ 06:00 AM |
If you are looking to take advantage of Fortnite betting sites over the next season, it will be helpful to know if you can expect any changes to occur.
It is worth keeping in mind that Epic Games has changed the timings in previous years. For example, Chapter 4, Season 1 had three different end dates released in official communications. This meant that players were kept guessing as to when the season would actually end. Although, because they were only a few days apart, the answer to “When does the Fortnite season end?” wasn’t too different.
Chapter 4, Season 2 also had a period where the in-game timer was incorrect. The incorrect timer resulted in the bonus skin not ending when it should. As a result, many players missed out. Epic Games then gave Geralt cosmetics to these players, which means they didn’t have to complete any quests to get it.
But as of right now, there are no expectations for the season-end date to change.
💡 We know the Fortnite end date for Chapter 6, Season 1
Chapter 6, Season 1 is currently due to end on February 21, 2025. We have gotten this date directly from Epic Games official communications to players. We don’t necessarily expect an extension to occur this time because future Chapter 6 content is getting leaked. With this in mind, Epic Games may want to stay on track and keep to the current schedule.
Although extensions absolutely can still happen, just like we saw with Chapter 5, Season 2 launch. Previous seasons have also been extended such as Chapter 2, Seasons 1 and 2 - these two seasons ran for 128 days and 119 days. As Epic Games has granted extensions before, it’s not completely unreasonable for this to happen again in the future.
So, while extensions are possible, we reckon it is pretty unlikely this time around due to the content leaks.
While there have been many leaks regarding new content, we will have to see which (if any) come about is true in February. You can expect the new season to start at 06:00 AM sharp, so be sure to tune in then for the start of the next season.
Meanwhile, when the new Fortnite season kicks off, you can expect brand-new content including cosmetics, weapons, skins, and exclusive events. Fortnite is known for its exciting collaborations with huge franchises including Star Wars, Walking Dead, Marvel, DC Comics, Stranger Things, and so much more. While some content gets leaked or rumored, you will have to wait until the official announcements are released to find out the exact details.
We expect Epic Games to start making official announcements at any time between now and the new season launch on February 22, 2025, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled.
