Arena, the old competitive game mode in Fortnite: Battle Royal has been replaced by Fortnite Ranked. Although there are a couple of differences, the concept remains the same.
There are still eight Fortnite Ranks, and you can still earn points by competing in games. The two main ways that you can earn ranked points are by placing high in games and eliminating other players. Below, we have explained the new ranked system for March 2025 in full.
The ranks in Fortnite are used to match players of a similar skill level against each other. This means that if you are a new player, you will be matched against other novices, meanwhile, the intermediate and more experienced players can battle each other.
Naturally, at the top level, these ranks will affect the odds on the top free bets apps, which you can find out more about here at Strafe.
New players all the way up to veterans and everyone in between can play ranked. You start with zero points at the “Unknown” level and can start building your rank straight away.
There are eight Fortnite ranks in total, five of which have three divisions (e.g. Bronze I, II & III). The top three divisions, Elite, Champion, and Unreal, are standalone.
Here is a breakdown of how the ranks and divisions work:
Rank | Divisions |
---|---|
Bronze | I, II & III |
Silver | |
Gold | |
Platinum | |
Diamond | |
Elite | N/A |
Champion | N/A |
Unreal | N/A |
You can rank up in Fortnite by playing competitive games to earn ranked points. There are two results of the game that earn you points:
The number of points that you get for placement is pretty straightforward - the higher you place, the more points you gain.
However, with eliminations, there are a couple of variables;
Basically, to maximize your ranked points, you want to eliminate high-ranking players late on in the game and finish high on the scoreboard.
Famously, Fortnite is a cross-platform game, meaning that you can play against players on all other consoles and PCs. As a result, your rank is also carried over across all platforms, which isn’t the same for most games.
Naturally, at the Elite, Champion, and Unreal levels, you find a lot of pro Fortnite players who compete in esports tournaments for prizes. The higher their rank is, the shorter their odds will be on the top Fortnite betting sites for 2025.
The good news is that you can play Fortnite ranked even if you’re starting from zero. Unlike, other games, such as Apex, you don’t have to reach a certain level in non-competitive gaming to gain access. Moreover, Fortnite is free - so you may as well give it a try, right?
