  • Fortnite players can top up the exact V-Bucks they need (in 50s), starting Oct 14. No more leftover balances.

Fortnite Exact Amount Top-Up: No More Leftovers

You know that feeling. You’re 100 V-Bucks short of a skin and Epic’s like, “here’s a $7 pack you didn’t ask for.” It’s been a thing forever. But finally, that’s changing.

Starting October 14, 2025, Fortnite’s adding an “Exact Amount” top-up option to let you buy only the amount you need. Which means no leftover currency collecting dust. It’s rolling out across nearly every platform, except PlayStation, which isn’t supported at launch according to Epic’s official post and multiple outlets.

New V-Bucks Exact Amount Purchasing Offer in Fortnit

What Fortnite’s Exact Amount offer means

This new top-up option lets you only buy the difference between your current balance and what the item costs. Say something’s 500 V-Bucks and you’ve got 400. Instead of buying a 1,000 V-Buck pack and sitting on 900, you’ll be able to just buy 100.

  • Fortnite & Rocket League: Top-ups will come in increments of 50
  • Fall Guys: Increments are 100 instead

This isn’t a full system overhaul, it’s an extra option on the purchase screen when you don’t have enough. Bundles still exist, but this fills the gap where the math never made sense.

The rounding pass on balances (Oct 10)

Before the new system launches, Epic’s also doing a one-time balance adjustment:

  • Fortnite & Rocket League: Balances will be rounded up to the nearest 50
  • Fall Guys: Rounded up to the nearest 100

This happens automatically on October 10, a few days ahead of the full rollout. If you’ve got 47 V-Bucks or 82 Credits sitting around, expect to wake up with a round number.

New V-Bucks Exact Amount Purchasing

Where you can use it on day one

The feature goes live across all major platforms except PlayStation:

  • Xbox
  • Nintendo Switch
  • PC
  • Android
  • iPhone & iPad
  • Fortnite web Item Shop

PlayStation at launch

If you’re on PS5 or PS4, you’re stuck with bundle buys for now. Epic hasn’t announced a launch date for Sony platforms, but they’ve said they’re working to make this available everywhere, so PlayStation could follow later.

It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s worth knowing, especially if you play on multiple platforms and want to top up elsewhere.

Why Fortnite players have wanted this for years

This isn’t only a quality-of-life thing, it’s one of the most long-requested changes Fortnite’s ever made.

▶️ Leftovers that never added up

Item Shop prices almost never matched the V-Bucks bundles. You’d overpay, unlock your skin, then sit on 250 V-Bucks for months.

▶️ Bundles that made you hesitate

Buying a 1,200 or 1,800 V-Bucks skin meant grabbing a full pack, even if you were only 100 off. And that stopped a lot of people from pulling the trigger.

What this fixes

If you’ve played Fortnite or follow it on Fortnite betting sites, you’ve probably run into that awkward shop math where your balance doesn’t match the item price, and the next top-up pack is way too big. This isn’t a new mode or a balance patch. But in terms of how often it’ll affect you, it’s easily one of the most practical changes Epic’s made in ages. Now if you’re short by 50, 100, 150, you top up that exact amount. Nothing extra, no leftovers clogging your account. Easy, fast, done.

It’s also super friendly for budget-conscious players. You’re no longer forced to overspend just to unlock a single thing. And that’s a win across the board whether you play casually, grind dailies, or just want that one back bling to match your loadout.

How to use the Exact Amount offer

Here’s how it’ll work once the feature goes live:

  1. Head to the Item Shop and pick the item you want.
  2. If you don’t have enough V-Bucks, the Exact Amount offer appears on the purchase screen.
  3. Choose it, confirm your payment, and the missing balance is added instantly.
  4. Complete the purchase like normal, no backtracking.

You can also top up via the Fortnite web Item Shop, then buy in-game on your usual platform. Because of cross-progression, any V-Bucks added follow your Epic account.

What’s changing in Rocket League and Fall Guys too

Epic’s rolling out the Exact Amount top-up system to Rocket League and Fall Guys as well. Same idea, different games, slightly different numbers.

Rocket League

In Rocket League, the system works just like Fortnite. You’ll be able to buy extra Credits in 50-unit steps starting October 14. Epic’s also rounding all existing balances up to the nearest 50 on October 10, so everyone starts rounded. It’s a simple fix for Blueprint unlocks or small shop items that always seemed to leave you just short of what you needed.

Rocket League

Fall Guys

For Fall Guys, top-ups come in 100-unit chunks instead. That matches the way its currency works. Like the others, balances will be rounded up ahead of launch, this time to the nearest 100. If you’re grabbing a costume piece or a limited-time collab item, you won’t be stuck overpaying or waiting for a better deal anymore.

Fall Guys

No more math. No more leftovers.

For once, you can buy exactly what you need and nothing more. That alone makes this update one of the best quality-of-life wins Epic’s dropped all year. The Exact Amount top-up goes live October 14, with rounding hitting October 10. It’s rolling out on every major platform except PlayStation, which Epic says is still in the works. Grab what you want. And leave the weird leftover change behind you.
