The Infinity Blade is back, and you can visit Polar Peak and pick it up in Fortnite OG
This overpowered weapon delivers devastating damage, and we still have nightmares from our experience when it was first released
The sword grants wielders serious character boosts, including a larger HP pool and a 30% speed upgrade

Overpowered weapons can be real game changers in Fortnite, allowing wielders to do massive damage for little effort and offering up an unfair advantage against opponents. Some are so effective they dominate any scenario regardless of counterplay.
The Infinity Blade is one such OP weapon, and Epic Games has brought it back in Fortnite OG. For anyone on the receiving end of its overpowered attack, it's curtains after a few strikes. We still get nightmares remembering the sword's ability to hack and slice opponents and buildings. It also grants holders serious character boosts.
In a recent live unvaulting event on June 14, players were allowed to pick one out of six items to unvault, and the Infinity Blade was chosen. The sword is now available to use in Fortnite OG – a game mode that features the classic maps and items from when Battle Royale was first released back in 2017.
The Infinity Blade was first added on Dec 11, 2018, during Chapter 1: Season 7 of Fortnite Battle Royale. However, it was vaulted on Dec 14, 2018, after just three days, for being too OP. The sword was unveiled when Fortnite's Winter Royale solos tournament was underway, and a viral clip of one player using it to dominate the battlefield proved the weapon messed with the game's balance too much to be kept around for long. It likely won't ever appear during competitive events again, so no need to worry about it if you like to wager at Fortnite betting sites.
The Infinity Blade was the first true Mythic item unveiled in Core Battle Royale modes. You could pull it out of the ground just like King Arthur's Excalibur. The devastating sword can deliver both swing attacks and leap attacks. And thanks to its wide hit range, it's effective even with average aim or poor positioning. Besides the pure power of an Infinity Blade attack, there are character benefits to wielding this weapon as well.
The main weakness of the Infinity Blade is that when you pick up the weapon, you can't hold any other item, including Materials and Traps. You have to drop all other items onto the floor. Also, the sword delivers short-range hits, so when attacked from a long range, you can't counter. If exposed, you also can't build for cover.
Every Fortnite weapon has weaknesses, so the trick is knowing how to use it right. Avoid running in open spaces. Instead, stick to close quarters and target buildings where lots of opponents are hiding. The Infinity Blade can unleash the kind of damage most other weapons can't. It's capable of taking down multiple enemy players in a swoop. It also increases your character's ability, so you're harder to eliminate. With the boosted HP and Shields, you can charge into fights while absorbing huge amounts of damage.
The Infinity Blade had remained vaulted for almost eight years. But earlier in January, it made a brief return in OG Season 7. An alternate version known as the Reforged Infinity Blade was also introduced in Battle Royale Chapter 7: Season 2 and was available for a month. This time around, the original weapon is making a proper comeback. We had our fair share of run-ins the first time around, and honestly, news of the comeback made us shake in our boots just a little.
The swing and lunge attacks of the Infinity Blade can cause chaos in an instant. So you’ll definitely want to be on the holding end rather than the receiving end of its attacks. You can visit Polar Peak to pick it up and begin slicing and dicing the enemy. We expect it to be in the game for at least a few weeks, possibly until Chapter 7: Season 3 ends around August 19.
