  • Fortnite’s Kicks system launched in November 2024, letting players equip standalone shoes separate from outfits.
  • 130+ swappable Kicks have dropped so far, including Nike Cortez, Air Jordans, and original Fortnite designs like Chomp Stompers.
  • Epic was aiming for 95% outfit compatibility by spring 2025, which has now been achieved.

Fortnite Kicks: Every Sneaker, How to Unlock Them & What’s Next

The first time I saw someone dunk on me in Fortnite wearing the Jordan 4 “Manila,” I wasn’t even mad, I was simply impressed. Fortnite now has shoes. Real ones. And I’m not talking baked-in sneakers on a skin.

I mean fully separate, collectible Fortnite Kicks you can equip. The update dropped late 2024, and it has quietly turned Fortnite into a sneakerhead’s digital playground. Nike, Jordan, even a meme shark-stomper pair. They’re all here. So, here’s the full rundown on Fortnite Kicks. What they are, how to get them, and every pair that’s dropped so far.

Fortnite Kicks

What Kicks actually are

Kicks are Fortnite’s standalone shoe cosmetics. They’re not just part of an Outfit, you can swap and equip them independently, the same way you would a pickaxe or a glider. They dropped with v32.11 on 21 November 2024. At launch, more than 500 Outfits were already compatible, and Epic said they were targeting 95% of the locker by spring 2025. That goal’s pretty much been hit.

These shoes live in your Locker under the new “Shoe” icon (right next to your skin tab). They’re not just visual, either. Some glow, others have reactive elements, and all of them slot onto characters that support the system.

Full Fortnite Kicks list (as of July 2025)

There are now over 130 swappable Fortnite shoes. From retro Jordans to glowing shark soles, there’s something for sneakerheads and memelords alike. Here’s a look at each brand:

💡 Brand  🔢 No. of Shoes ➡️ Usual Price Range
Nike (incl. SB, ACG & special collabs) 39 800–1,200 V-Bucks
Jordan Brand 35 800–1,000 V-Bucks
Fortnite Originals 24 600–800 V-Bucks
adidas 14 800–1,000 V-Bucks
Crocs 8 800–1,000 V-Bucks
Vans 8 800–1,000 V-Bucks
Puma 4 800–1,000 V-Bucks
Anthony Edwards 1 (adidas) 2 1,000 V-Bucks
Nike

Nike dominates the Kicks category, with nearly 40 designs across multiple drops.

  • Nike Cortez Leather OG – The streetwear classic from Drop 1.
  • Nike Shox R4 “Comet Red” – Complete with bouncy Shox columns.
  • Nike Air Foamposite One “Galaxy” – Glow-in-the-dark soles, and a favourite among trickshot creators.

Jordan Brand

Jordan kicks helped bridge Fortnite’s OG basketball era into the Kicks format.

  • Air Jordan 11 “Bred” – A patent-leather legend.
  • Air Jordan 3 “Black Cement-Gray” – True 1988 vibes.
  • Air Jordan 1 High OG “Black Toe Re-imagined” – First free Kicks item via Battle Pass.

Fortnite Originals

Epic’s in-house styles go from hilarious to hype.

  • Chomp Stompers – Meme legends with shark-tooth soles
  • Turbo Highs – Sleek and futuristic
  • Astro Runners – Built for sci-fi and space-themed Outfits

Crossover collabs that wear their Kicks

Some sneakers aren’t swappable, they’re permanently baked into certain Icon or collab skins. They still matter though, because they helped build Fortnite’s sneaker culture before Kicks were a thing.

LeBron James (2021)

Both LeBron variants wear the Nike LeBron 19, the court-ready original and the Taco Tuesday version. They marked the real-world debut of the LeBron 19, even before retail release.

J Balvin (2021)

The Colombian music Icon skin rocked Air Jordan 1 “Colores y Vibras”. Bright, multi-color, and designed for cel-shaded Fortnite lighting.

Balenciaga Fit Set (2021)

Luxury fashion entered Fortnite with the Balenciaga Triple S. These were worn by both collab Outfits and existed as collectibles in the Strange Times hub.

The OG sneaker drops before Kicks existed

Some shoes never made it into the Locker tab, but they still made history. These Outfits helped pave the way for Fortnite Kicks:

Grind & Clutch (2019)

Part of the Hang Time bundle, these skins came wearing Nike Air Jordan 1s in different colourways. The Downtown Drop LTM was built around them. With wall-running and crate-collecting gameplay straight from an early 2000s skate game.

Swish & Hangtime (2021)

These outfits rocked the Jordan 11 “Cool Grey” and launched alongside the Jumpman Zone, a trick-shot map that stuck around for years.

Airphoria (2023)

Airie and Maxxed-Out Max showed off Nike Air Max 1 ’86s, and players could unlock a matching Back Bling on a custom-built island. This crossover blurred the line between virtual and IRL sneaker drops.

How to unlock and equip Fortnite Kicks

If you’re looking to start your shoe collection, here’s how it works:

1️⃣ Item Shop

Most Kicks have dropped as part of bundles or solo listings between 600 and 1,000 V-Bucks. Just check the rotating shop tab.

2️⃣ Battle Pass

Occasionally, Epic drops bonus Kicks as part of mid-season unlocks. The “Black Toe Re-imagined” was one example.

3️⃣ Equipping

Head to your Locker → Character tab → Shoe icon. There’s also a “Kicks Usability” filter that shows which Outfits can rock which shoes.

And yes, you can preview them on your current skin before locking them in.

What the community thinks

Fortnite turning into a virtual Foot Locker wasn’t on my 2024 bingo card, but here we are. And it’s kinda fire.

From meme takes like “Zuko in Jordans” to players matching their fits with emotes, Kicks have become a real part of the Fortnite style meta. Esports players on Fortnite betting sites wear them on stream and some creators even cosplay their locker looks in real life.

What’s next for Fortnite Kicks

Epic said they’d retrofit 95% of Outfits for Kicks support by spring 2025. And that rollout looks pretty much complete now. Almost every skin in my Locker shows that little shoe icon.

Looking ahead, the real buzz is around community-voted sneaker drops. Nothing officially confirmed yet, but Epic’s teased it more than once. So if we’re choosing between Yeezys and Reeboks later this year, I know where I’m voting.

Air Jordan 4 “Manila”

Time to flex your pair

It doesn’t matter if you copped the Air Jordan 4 “Manila” or just grabbed the Chomp Stompers for laughs, Fortnite’s shoe game has leveled up in a big way. And with new drops on the horizon, there’s never been a better time to step your style up.

Check your locker, sync that rare Kick with a clean skin, and hit the lobby. Style points don’t win the match, but they certainly turn heads.
