Excel Esports and Astralis are two of the most successful teams in the League of Legends European Championship. They have both had a lot of success in past tournaments, and their rivalry is one of the most intense in esports.

In the LEC Summer 2022 tournament, these two teams will go head-to-head on July 15th in order to see who is the better. When it comes to the League of Legends LEC Summer tournament, both of these teams had quite a good run so far. Excel Esports is now sitting at the 4-1 score with only one loss against G2 Esports. On the other hand, Astralis is slightly behind with a 3-2 score as they lost two matches against G2 Esports and Rouge. Anyhow, let's see a bit more about these teams.

Excel Esports

Excel Esports is a British esports organization that was founded in 2014. The organization also has teams competing in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, and Call of Duty. In League of Legends, they have been fairly successful as they've won multiple tournaments such as the UKLC Spring 2019 and the Insomnia 62 and 63 tournament.

As of now, Excel Esports is doing more than ok in this tournament as they are in the upper half of the scoreboard. Nevertheless, they will need to step up their game if they want to take down Astralis who has been their biggest rival for a while now.

Astralis

Astralis is a Danish esports organization that was founded in 2016. The organization also has teams competing in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Female, and other games. In League of Legends, they haven't been as successful as Excel Esports but they've still managed to win a couple of tournaments.

Even though Astralis is currently behind Excel Esports and G2 Esports on the scoreboard, they have the potential to take down any team in this tournament. This is why their match against Excel Esports will be one of the most anticipated ones.

Who's better overall?

As we mentioned before, these two teams have a rivalry that goes back a while. The reason for their rivalry is mainly because they are two of the most successful teams in the LEC. They've both had a lot of success in past tournaments, and their matches are always intense. Therefore, it's hard to tell who's better overall.

Nevertheless, most people suggest that Excel Esports has a slight advantage over Astralis as they are currently sitting in second place on the scoreboard. What's the obvious choice

Unfortunately, there's no obvious choice when it comes to Excel Esports and Astralis. They are both great teams with a lot of potential, especially when it comes to their players. Excel Esports is happy to have Patrik as their carry and damage dealer. This guy is superb in the mid-game and often he leads his team to victory. On the other hand, Astralis has Dajor which is their midlaner and one of the best in Europe.

This makes it really hard to predict who will win this match as both teams have great players. But, when you take everything into consideration, past tournament success, and current standings, it's fair to say that Excel Esports is a slight favorite in this match.
