The latest CS:GO patch adds more exciting content to competitive play
CS:GO is a game that is constantly evolving. Competitive play in the game has always been stellar, and CS:GO is always working to update their play. The latest 2022.02.01 CS:GO patch notes tighten up the gameplay.
The biggest update that many CS:GO fans will clamor for is
the cursed spawn bug finally being fixed up. Along with this update, there are plenty more updates that do change up the gameplay significantly, as well as some new features that will affect your overall CS:GO competitive play. We’re going to review all the major 2022.02.01 CS:GO patch notes.
The Patch
These 2022.02.01 CS:GO patch notes are mostly aimed at fixing various gameplay issues that have plagued competitive play recently.
The controller issues, such as the default binding and crouching problems, have been tightened up and fixed. Many UI (user interface) problems have also been fixed, including the +quickgrenades command that has caused many glitches when inputted.
One of the major flaws with the recent CS:GO play is the fixing of the spawn bug. In competitive mode, a spawn bug has left players glitching out before the game has even begun.
This issue has finally been fixed. A cheat involving cl_showpos (a command which shows you exactly where you are on the map) has been resolved, due to players using the command to indirectly win competitive matches.
The command has been removed entirely from CS:GO play. Other smaller glitches have been the focus of these 2022.02.01 CS:GO patch notes.
For example, Molotov and incendiary grenades glitched through the walls, and the floors have been fixed.
Accuracy in the overall shooting has been tightened up as well, and the Vertigo and Shoot maps have undergone a variety of miscellaneous fixes.

As expected, this patch was received positively by all the pros. When the patch was announced on Twitter, many of the tournament stalwarts chimed in to give their two cents.
In particular,
SpunJ, former retired CS:GO and current broadcaster, voiced his approval
of the cl_showpos patch.
A critic of the cheats used by commands such as cl_showpos, he commented that he ‘presented them (CS:GO) regarding the command and asked what they thought. For it is used on a professional basis, Spunj simply replied ‘I think we got our answer’.
It has controversy among most casual fans, but most of the professionals agree with the decision to remove the command. The consensus seems to be that you shouldn’t need the command for positioning purposes, that you should be skilled enough at the game not to rely on an ‘overpowered’ command.
The spawn glitch has also been the source of frustration for many pros, who welcome it finally being removed from the game. With teams Hard Legion, Heroic, and MIBR all being banned for using a similar spawn glitch two years ago, it was widely welcomed that the spawn glitch was finally resolved so that all players will spawn within the map. We think these 2022.02.01 CS:GO patch notes may have a small impact on the upcoming Mythic Winter Cup game.
With some solid teams competing in this tournament, from Bad News Bears to Party Astronauts and Team One, some of these teams' strategies may be affected. With Party Astronauts winning the first leg of the cup, we believe that they’re still a run-in to win this leg too.
Their team is too strong, and
it’s not like they’ve been over-reliant on a command such as cl_showpos
to win the major tournaments they’ve won, like the Mythic Cup and the Steelseries Prime Cup.
What we think will affect many of the teams in this tournament is the patch that fixed incendiaries and molotovs falling through the walls and floors. Many ‘inadvertent’ kills have happened due to this glitch, and without it, many of the lower-level teams will not have that crutch to sit on.
