Why did Astralis let the 5x Major winner go?

It’s no secret to those who follow the CSGO competitive scene up close that, for the last few seasons, Astralis has been struggling to show up inside the server – and someone had to take the blame for that.

This time, since gla1ve was in the lead, he took most of the criticism – especially since his individual performances had been sub-par compared to his teammates. So, after the off-season, the org decided to bench gla1ve and throw him into the market. Smart move? We’ll have to wait and see…

blameF for IGL. What can we expect?

For those who remember, blameF is no stranger to the IGL position given that he was leading Complexity’s roster for most of the time he played for the org. This previous history might have been a huge factor for the org to decide who would replace gla1ve.

Some might have thought that Nicolai “device” Reedtz would have been the one to take the IGL spot given his experience as a player, but that was not the case this time.

In an interview for HLTV.org, the player was asked about a few topics, including whose idea was to put him in the IGL spot, his or the managers? In his response, he said that it was a bit of both as he had already thought of the idea and, when asked to do it, he replied with “no-brainer”, his words…

blameF was also asked about CS2 and what he expected regarding the new roster’s performance in the new era of Counter-Strike. To sum up, he reiterated that the team’s goal, at least for right now, is not to be the best in the world. Despite that, he mentioned that they’re going to put in a lot of hours to make that a possibility in the future and that their performance in CS2 is certainly going to benefit from these hours to be put in with the new roster.
