After a rather easy W against Complexity, Astralis is now one step close to fighting for their spot in the BLAST Premier Fall Finals. Let’s take a look at their performance to try and understand what were the reasons behind the clean 2x0 against Col.

With the first pick for the series, Astralis opted for Vertigo, a map that they have been showing great performances throughout their last games – and that did not change this time around…

As for the second map, Complexity chose Overpass – a choice that might have been their biggest mistake throughout this tournament. As for the decider, if needed, the map left open by both teams was Nuke.

Vertigo

Despite the close scoreboard at the end of this map (16x11), Astralis dominated the map from the get-go, winning the first half by 8x7. The difference here was made by 3 players from the Danish team: blameF (1.36 rating), device (1.32 rating), and Buzz (1.30 rating).

As for Complexity’s performance, nothing out of the extraordinary was seen – except for JT. During this map, he might have shown his worst game of the season, proven by his 0.5 rating, the 6/21 KD, and an ADR of only 37.

Overpass

If you watched this map, you already know how superior Astralis was. Out of the 5 players, only Staehr had a sub-1 rating, while blameF shocked everyone by his incredible performance. He boasted a K/D of 27/6, 137.1 ADR, and, believe it or not, a 2.30 rating. As for Complexity, no one killed more than they died and no ratings above 1.0 were given to them. Complete and utter domination is what we can say happened here.

Of course, with a performance like that, it’d be hard for us not to credit blameF for this victory. During the series, he got a K/D of 48/20 (+28), an average ADR of 100.8, and a 1.74 rating average. So, congratulations to blameF for owning Complexity’s roster today…

With the victory in the bag, Astralis will face Liquid in the Single Elimination Bracket this Saturday – the winner will go through to the BLAST Premier Fall Finals.
