Apex Legends Street Fighter Mayhem event hits: New skins, gameplay tweaks, and rewards for 2026

Starting from September 22nd, Apex Legends has teamed up with Capcom to bring you the incredible Apex Legends x Street Fighter 6 Crossover event, and we can’t wait to jump in and play with the awesome new features.

There will be a new wildcard game mode, loads of character and weapon skins, and an updated rewards store, plus the chance to do Ryu’s legendary Hadoken move as a mythical melee attack. Below, we break down all these features and more, and explain fully what you can expect from this upcoming event, which is running until October 13th.

Basic info you need to know about the Apex Legends x Street Fighter crossover

To kick things off, let’s look at a basic overview and summary of what you can expect from this event:

• Dates: September 22nd to October 13th, 2026.
• New special Street Fighter wildcard game mode.
• 4 new kits featuring legendary Street Fighter characters.
• New Street Fighter version of the Olympus map.
• Universal Hadoken mythic melee move.

Apex Legends vs. Street Fighter 6 wildcard game mode

So, on to the main event of this crossover, and something which Apex Betting Sites have been commenting on - the new wildcard game mode. We all love the wildcard game mode already, but this Street Fighter-inspired variant includes some cool new features, such as:

• A remixed Olympus map with a Street Fighter-themed overhaul.
• Select from four different fighters, each with their own move set and features.
• Collect tokens on the map to power up and activate your Fighting Form.
• Enter the final Showdown and duke it out with other players in an epic Street Fighter brawl.

The classic Olympus map has been given a makeover for this event, and you can expect loads of Street Fighter features including Luke’s Gym, banners, fighter statues, and more.

Next, this game mode has four fighters to choose from:

• Ryu, who offers better movement and ranged Hadokens.
• Chun-Li, who has faster melee attacks and a charged Kikosho Blast.

• Dhalsim, who can float with low gravity control and has a cool Yoga Teleport.

As you play the wildcard game mode, you’ll be able to move around the map and collect tokens to fill your Fight Gauge. When it’s active, you can go into third-person mode and go ham with your character’s Street Fighter moves.

Lastly, during the final showdown, your Fighter Gauge is pumped to the max, and there’s constant fighting action as everyone who is downed is chucked back into the battle instantly!

New items, drops, and gameplay features

Aside from the game mode, as you expect, Apex has added a ton of features, drops, and items to go with it:

Hadoken mythic melee move

Is there a more iconic move from Street Fighter? Of course not! This is why it had to be a usable feature in this Apex Legends crossover. Everyone gets access to it, so you’re gonna see a hell of a lot of Hadokens flying around.

If you watch any Apex Legends stream on Twitch between the event dates for at least 60 seconds, you’ll get the “Insert Coin here” weapon charm.

Discord quest

If you have your Apex account linked to Discord, you’ll also be able to try and complete the cool Discord Quest, which can get you the unique Kung Fu Coach Tracker Set.
